In the "Customise" tab of MultiBeast, mine is only showing "6,2" in the Mac Mini section, no 8,1 or 7,1. Should I just go with that?

Hi CaseySJ,

I just noticed something weird when I was booting my computer up. After Clover boots up there are several disk choices, and the default is the install Mojave one... Is there a way to change the default boot disk? I thought it was only doing that because my hard drives are plugged in, but it does the same when they are unplugged...

You're absolutely right.
I got cocky and went with 6,1, and have got past the stage of running KextBeast.

Should I now run the updated version of MultiBeast, and then go through and check everything again? Or is it more severe and I should actually wipe the system drive and start again?

It's even easier than re-running MultiBeast. Instead:

• Run Clover Configurator
• Open the config.plist from EFI partition
• Goto SMBIOS section
• Click the pop-up menu near the right side and choose Macmini8,1
• Copy Board Serial Number to RtVariables --> MLB
• Save the file

Hi, in the meantime I would like to congratulate you for the guide. I have the following configuration quite similar to yours:

Mainboard: GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS XTREME (BIOS F5)
Processor: Core i9-9900K
VGA: MSI lightining GTX 780
RAM: HyperX Predator RGB 3600MHz 32GB
WiFi: ASUS PCE AC68
All Ethernet and onboard WiFi disabled in BIOS.

I followed the guide using the same settings and I arrived successfully until step 17 of the "Installation overview", unfortunately at this point instead of getting the welcome screen gave me the following error screen.

Any idea what might have been wrong and how to proceed?

I'm not familiar with the Asus PCE-AC68, but the kernel panic backtrace is coming from the Airport (Broadcom) driver. Some suggestions:

• Try removing the Asus PCE-AC68.
• The on-board Intel CNVi WiFi/BT module might be interfering with the Asus. You may also try installing "SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-NO-CNVW.aml" by copying it to the CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder. It should would on the AORUS Extreme.

Please let us know if the problem persists. @rj510 has the AORUS Extreme Waterforce, so perhaps he can offer some guidance as well.

Here is my files;

You didn't provide a screenshot of the /Library/Extensions folder as was requested. Nevertheless, attached is a modified CLOVER folder.

Step 1:
Backup your existing CLOVER folder from EFI partition of Mojave SSD. Then delete the CLOVER folder and empty the trash.

Step 2:
Unzip the attached CLOVER folder (rename it to CLOVER) and copy it to EFI partition of Mojave SSD.

Step 3:
Copy your serial numbers back into config.plist --> SMBIOS and copy the Board Serial Number into RtVariables.

Step 4:
I have changed Inject Kexts to Detect. This means you must install all third-party kexts into /Library/Extensions. It's okay to keep a copy in CLOVER/kexts/Other, but you must also install them in /L/E. All of the kexts in the image below should be copied into /Library/Extensions, and then run Kext Utility to rebuild kernel cache.



Step 5:
Reboot and check your system.

This CLOVER folder also includes custom USB SSDT created by @jbarnette for the Z390 M Gaming build guide. This means you do not need USB port limit patches, so I've disabled all of them.

Always keep a USB install disk that you can use for emergency boot.

@CaseySJ thanks very much mate. Ok so I think Im good now with all the above. I have some other issues, maybe you can help please!

1. When Im on wifi download speeds are very slow, I compared with my 2012 MacBook Pro, same file, same condiitions - 30minutes on the Hack and 30s on the MacBook Pro - any ideas why this is? It's strange. Ethernet I don't have this issue.

Which WiFi/BT card are you using? Is it always slow (even after fresh boot), or only after wake-from-sleep? If only after wake-from-sleep, please see this.

2. I am unable to login to iMessage and FaceTime (iCloud seems to be working) - any ideas what I can try?

Have you installed EmuVariableUefi-64? If so, Messages and FaceTime are still failing to log in? In this case, please backup the system and then follow:

• P1LGRIM's guide.
• JayMonkey's extensive guide.

3. In your going the extra mile section, you mention "System Definition" as the first point to consider. How do I set this up? Are there instructions? I am using my system purely for music production in my home studio.

For professional applications, we recommend using the following configuration with 10.14.4:

• Switch to Headless platform ID 0x3E980003
• Use AMD GPU to drive display monitor(s)

Thank you, but I think I set up my IGPU now proper way; I removed all device properties under devices and activate Inject Intel under the Graphics. That's it. Now I can see the HD 630 and ioreg show fully supported. But I must some test for a system crash.

Note: I did this before your post. I will test also your recommendation. But I don't need USB SSDT, cause my USB to set up inside of DSDT.

Had a few random reboots today. Not sure what's causing them, but will go through a process of elimination to see if I can locate a cause on the hardware side of things.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for how I might identify the cause? Is there something I should look for in system logs perhaps?

The system had been stable for the last few days. The only thing I've changed in the last day is applying the FCPX fix (as per the install guide) and connecting some USB 3 drives to transfer some large files.

Was wondering if this works with another Z390 board from Gigabyte as well - there is the Aurora which costs about half, has the same ACL1120 audio codec but lacking TB3 (which i dont need).

It might have been answered somewhere in the 350+ pages of this guide - however did anyone try to use a similar Gigabyte board?
