[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

This probably indicates:
  • Bad PCI power connection. Try reconnecting the 6-pin or 8-pin PCI power cable.
  • Bad slot insertion. Make sure card is fully seated in the PCIe slot.
  • Insufficient power. For i9-9900K with discrete graphics, I recommend nothing less than 750W power supply.
I have the 750Super Nova G2. I will check the connections ASAP. This card use the 8pin (6 plus 2 power cable).

something weird going here...
I enabled iGPU again in BIOS to try using new platform ID for 10.14.4 in headless mode (SMBIOS macMini8,1) and got stuck here on boot:

If I disable iGPU, everything goes fine (with no jpeg quick look and Geekbench slightly lower tho)

Anyone has an idea of what is going here?

thanks

Card is in the right position (port #2) i will try the other 2 ports later on, power cables all the way in.....Any otter Idea? still doing the same on and off. Any ohter bios configuration?
thanks a lot man.

Yes this should be possible. I'll make a note to test it this evening.

Mine is the same wifi/bt card, i was able wake via bluetooth kb/mouse on Z77 MB, but not on B360 MB.

Several suggestions, but not sure if they will solve the problem:
  1. Disable IGPU and boot the usual way. Rebuild kernel caches by running Kext Utility.
  2. Check BIOS settings again. Power down system, remove power cable for 10 seconds. Restart. If problem persists, go to step 3. (CSM disabled, iGPU enabled, Initial Display Output = PCIe 1 Slot, monitor connected to RX 580.)
  3. Above 4G Decoding. Flip the switch in BIOS. If currently enabled, disable it. If disabled, enable it. If problem persists, go to step 4.
  4. Re-flash BIOS. Upgrade to F6 is not already there. Start with Load Optimized Defaults and set all BIOS parameters again. Reboot. If problem persists, go to step 5. (CSM disabled, iGPU enabled, Initial Display Output = PCIe 1 Slot, monitor connected to RX 580.)
  5. Enable CSM Support in BIOS, but keep iGPU Enabled. If problem persists, step 6.
  6. Remove RX 580. Connect monitor to HDMI port on motherboard or use USB-C to DisplayPort cable and connect to either of the 2 USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) ports. In BIOS, set Initial Display Output to IGFX. Does the system boot?
What is the make and model of the RX 580?
Do you have any other devices in any PCI slots other than WiFi/BT card?

  • Is the RX580 connected via Riser Cable or is it plugged directly into a PCIe slot?
  • Are there any tiny switches on the RX 580? For example, a switch to toggle between Normal/Quiet mode and Overclocking (OC) mode?
  • Did it work in the other PC case?

Is direct connected to mobo, It was working just fine....:banghead:
This mobo have 3 PCIe port is in the meddle.
If I retard the PC the fans run fast, a soon as I login in mojave they stop working.
Is a tiny one, for gaming and normal use, I switch in between still the same problem.
It was working fine in the otter tower.
Is any auto option in the BIOS? maybe I skip something, is juts On and Off. Im trying to finish this worko_O.

Thanks for checking out man.

Why do you use macmini8,1 SMBIOS? iMac19,1 is more suitable, update clover configurator to apply. Also you may need to run 10.14.5 beta.

Anyone wishing to run a beta version is free to do so on their own, in which case they must not ask for any help from this thread. They should post their issues directly to the Mojave Support Forum. This guide and this thread are based exclusively on Released versions.

Because when I followed this guide (in January) I remember macmini8,1 was the one there. And now I'm not up to change Serial Number and deactivate/active all my audio plugins and softwares while my schedule has some jobs and clients to attend.
