[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Tried changing it, tried using config.plist, but still same results...
Please let us know if the problem turns out to be monitor- or cable-related per your earlier post.

Strange i update to 10.4.4 i know i am on desktop but it’s black screen

Also i lost my acceleration h264 and hvc
Is your monitor connected via AMD Radeon GPU or internal GPU? If you still have this problem, please upload config.plist (you may remove serial numbers from SMBIOS).

I experienced install problem wherby installation would freeze during the last two minutes. Using APFS formatting and also a known good ssd, during install attempts I opened the install log and it appeared that install had successfully completed. After rebooting the PC, the install would intermittently freeze during other parts of the install.

When reattempting each Mojave install, disk utility would show spinning beachball when attempting to reformat disk. I could only delete the Mac installation partition using Disk Manager in Windows, then reattempt Mojave install. Successive
install attempts would also freeze at some point during installation.

I followed another guide and it seems the root of the problem is having Above 4G decoding enabled in the bios. When disabling Above 4G decoding the installation susssfully completed. Once installation is completed, Above 4G decoding can be safely enabled. So it appears that having this bios option enabled during install it is having some adverse effect on memory mapping during installation.
Every motherboard exhibits its own set of idiosyncrasies. In other words, there are few universally applicable settings. Some boards in combination with some GPU VBIOSes even require iGPU to be disabled. Some motherboard do not work with some Aptio memory drivers. And as you said, some boards prefer Above 4G disabled, but others are more forgiving.

First all
Congratulations for the great job.

I decided to build my second hackintosh (dualboot Mojave & W10).
I 've bought all the components except the motherboard (it's a long story):
Corsair 570x / 9700K / Asus Vega 56 / Corsair Veng. RGB 16GB / Samsung 860 / Crucial M4 / H150i Pro / EVGA G3 650W

I would really appreciate it if you could answer a question I have.
I doubt between Z390 designare or aorus master.
If I buy the aorus master could follow your guide or there is some incompatibility ?

Thanks in advance.
Yes, most of this build guide applies to the Gigabyte AORUS Master as well, except for some SSDTs in post-installation. The following SSDTs should be okay on AORUS Master:
  • SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-NO-CNVW.aml -- this will render the Intel WiFi/BT card invisible to MacOS and allow you to use x1 PCIe slots.
  • SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-RX580-V2.aml -- this is only for RX 580 GPUs in PCIe Slot 1.
  • SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-RX580-SLOT2-V2.aml -- this for RX 580 in Slot 2.
You'll need to create your own custom USB SSDT or apply the three USB port limit removal patches for 10.14.4 (these patches may not work with 10.14.5 and later, so USB SSDT is preferred long term solution).

I followed this install guide to the letter... except I missed a couple of letters!

When I got to the post install step I couldn't choose the MacMini 8,1 and then I realized that I installed the 10.14.0!! Is there any way to update at this point or do I need to start from scratch? (I literally stopped once I realized I couldn't choose the correct model so I haven't even done the post install reboot).
It would be better to start again with a 10.14.3 or 10.14.4 installer, but you can also try the following:
  • Complete the post-installation steps with iMac14,2.
  • Reboot and sign-in to iCloud and AppStore.
  • Update to 10.14.4 from within Mojave.
  • Log out of iCloud.
  • Then change SMBIOS to Macmini8,1 (you'll get new serial numbers; be sure to copy new Board Serial Number to RtVariables --> MLB) and reboot.
  • Log back into iCloud and AppStore.
  • From your iPhone or from iCloud.com, review your account information. You'll find the iMac14,2 registered there; delete it.
Again, it's better to start again with 10.14.3 or 10.14.4. To do this:
  • Be sure to first delete or move "Install MacOS Mojave" from the Applications folder on your real Mac. The App Store will not download the latest installer if it sees an old one already there.

so yesterday it seems everything runs perfect, except the WIFI Card. And now i want to boot again i get this message (IMG 1 and 2)

i read something about a missing FakeSMC.kext. The last step i tried after post installation was "to go the extra mile". I deleted alle FakeSMC.kext in Clover and Library/Ext as mentioned down below, than copied the KGP-X99 files in the Clover directory and started the Kext Utility. Is there a possiblity to redo this step in the BIOS boot section. Can i boot the EFI from Clover in the BIOS?
If everything was running properly with the standard FakeSMC, please undo the KGP version and go back to the standard version. Let your system run smoothly for some time. And make a full backup once you have a stable system.

Do you still have a problem with your WiFi card? If so, please describe...

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll probably go ahead and do everything from scratch.

Please try this:
  • Insert the USB install disk. Press F12 at BIOS splash screen and select the USB.
  • At Clover Boot Menu, select the standard "Boot macOS from Mojave".
  • This should allow you to log into your system.
  • Then mount the EFI partition of the Mojave SSD.
  • Delete FakeSMC and its sensor kexts from CLOVER/kexts/Other.
  • If you copied FakeSMC to /Library/Extensions, delete it from there as well.
  • Download RehabMan's FakeSMC.
  • Copy FakeSMC.kext and all of the sensor kexts to /Library/Extensions.
  • Copy just FakeSMC.kext also to CLOVER/kexts/Other.
  • Run Kext Utility to rebuild kernel cache. Do not skip this! Wait for it to complete. You will see a button called "Quit" on the bottom right corner of the window when the job is done.
  • Safely eject the USB install disk.
  • Reboot the computer normally.
thats the WiFi card i bought because someone recommended this card that it runs smoothly with hackis.

Fenvi Dual Band Wireless-AC Desktop Adapter 2x2 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz AC 867Mbps 802.11ac/a/b/g/n Bluetooth 4.0 PCIe Desktop Wifi Card

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01K4EAN58/?tag=tonymacx8603-21

the card you suggested is not available in germany.
This is the Fenvi FV-8801 and I don't think it's Mac compatible. The Fenvi FV-T919 is the one you need. If this is not available in Deutschland, please look for any BCM94360CD or BCM94360CS cards. You may need to purchase a separate PCIe x1 adapter. If you have some links to these parts and would like me to verify them for you, please ask.
