macOS 10.14.4 Update

Status
Not open for further replies.
Upgrade went ok on my system (from 10.14.3) except for USB 3.0 which broke again (I know I need to implement USB mapping properly).

It doesn't let me update, doesn't allow me to select the current Mojave partition, says volume is not formatted as APFS.
Any clues?

Thanks.

So I need to reinstall to be able to update?
boot in recovery and convert your partition to APFS or wipe and re install, your choice :)

I'll try to convert it :). Thank you!

Did not update Clover before applying update. Mac laptop now freezes at Apple logo spinning wheel. I looked around and read I need to update Clover but not sure how to do that. I made a new installation USB and tried the boot recovery clover option but just hangs. Can I update Clover without being booted in the OS?

A truly painless experience for me. I did not update clover before the update, being a newbie I didn't realise I should have upgraded :)

My Clover is version 4769. I updated via system preferences and let the update process do it all by itself and went for coffee. Came back to an upgraded system. Everything appears to be working just fine.

[UPDATE]
I upgraded the bios to version 4.00 which updates the Intel processor Microcode. After doing this the system will no longer boot MAC OS. I followed all the instructions to upgrrade Clover, LiLu etc but to no avail. I removed the SSD drive and installed it into my secondary system (GA-Z270X-UD3) and it booted normally. My recommendation for anyone building a new hackintosh - Do not buy this motherboard.
