Samsung 970 500GB M.2 SSD speed tanked. any ideas what could cause this to drop to about 20% of the original speed?

I used to get a little over 2GB-1.5GB per sec writes on this SSD when it was new. I have the same one in my Mac Pro and it is still getting me a solid 1.5GB/sec

Now when I run BMD speed test I get write speed that bursts up to about 2.5GB and then after about a second or 2 falls down to about 600mb/s The write speed however stays at a steady 2249mb/s for the most part. every once in a while I get an odd one that drops down to about 920mb/s on the read side.

does anyone know why this would occur and is there anyway to fix it? Do I have a bad SSD? it is only about 3-4 months old.

Update : I let BMD Disk speed test run for about an hour and came back and the write speed has dropped to 566 and read to 738

[SOLVED]

I just got mine back from RMA and so far so good. according the the work order in the return it was a firmware upgrade!

I have the Samsung 970 EVO 250GB NVMe M.2 and with both BM Disk Speedtest & AJA System Test Lite, both show the SSD slowing down considerably. Letting the utility run, my speeds on the Read side are normal and stay consistent around 2800... The write side is where it slows down A LOT... Keeping the utility running it lands and stays in the low 300's write speed. I experience the same symptoms with Sata SSD's as well (A micron 500GB SSD and an OWC Mercury Accelsior S 500GB) ...

I'm not having any of these issues with my other SSDs

I have 2x 1TB Samsung EVO 860 SATA SSD in a raid 1 and I have a Intel M.2 p660 1TB SSD and all of them are working fine it is jus the main boot SSD that is exhibiting the problem.

Hmm... All my SSDs are exhibiting this issue. I have a Traditional 6TB Toshiba and it runs fine. I have a OWC Elite 4GB (Raid 0) through USB 3 and it runs fine... Everything is running perfect so far except this slow Disk problem which is super annoying.
MB = Gigabyte Designare (Bios = F6)
CPU = I7 8700K
GPU = Sapphire Nitro+ 580 8GB
Memory = Hyper X (HX432C18FB2K/16)
V-NAND SSD = 970 EVO NVMe M.2
*** I purchased a Samsung 960 EVO 250GB and I am having the same issue.
I let the Disk test Cycle and it slows down under 100 then the next cycle goes back to 1500+ then drops down relatively fast until through a few cycles drops down below 100 again and then next cycle full speed and then starts slowing down ... This happens on reads and writes. Everything else is working great, but this disk speed is a real problem... Any help/ideas will be greatly appreciated! :)
