Hey all using the 2019 razer blade, I have the Razer Blade Adv 2019 with RTX 2060, my trackpad seems to work perfectly fine

Did you just follow the guide or did you do something differently? Maybe you got a different batch with the "old" trackpad?

While everything else is fine, I'm still experiencing this 'no-apple-logo-blip' on boot issue, so at random times I just can't boot. Sometimes it goes aways after 1 reboot, sometimes after. What could be the cause?
I have 970PRO ssd if that helps...

UPDATE: so it stuck at SIOCPROTODETACH_IN6: utun0 error=6 as can be seen in photo. I've googled for a solution but can't understand how to fix it. I've found a thread on this site about this error and there is a link to another resource which has a solution but I can't figure out where exactly is the solution...

UPDATE2(SOLUTION): I've googled more and found that Cisco Anyconnect VPN is mentioned often in threads with this error, so I've deleted it, and the issue disappeared.

Hey everyone! First of all a huge thanks to all of you who contributed to make this guide so thorough and easy-to-follow. Surprisingly, I was able to get everything up and running in no time! I do have a couple of questions though;

a. Is it normal for the NVIDIA card not to show up at all when no HDMI or DisplayPort is connected? Even the web driver refuses to stay enabled and reverts back to the default macOS graphics driver after reboot. The card doesn't show up neither in "About This Mac" nor in system report which I find bizarre. UPDATE With HDMI connected the problem apparently persists and the laptop refuses to go to sleep as well. It really seems like I'm running into the same issues @mr-pretz reported a while ago.

b. On boot up the apple logo glitches for a split second and then goes back to normal. Now, I am aware of this being a bug for quite a while now but was under the impression it had been solved already. Did I mess something up on my system or is this still a thing and I worry for no reason at all?

c. I also ran into a problem when trying to install the latest security update from the App Store. The system reboots into the installer as it should but hangs after a while. I solved the problem by plugging in my usb stick first and then booting into the installer this way. Is this normal though? Is there a flag causing this problem? UPDATE I'm crossing this one out. I did my reading and it seems like this one is "normal".

Cheers guys, have a great day!

Apple logo blip on boot is not a bug but a good sign that graphics driver loaded, afaik.

So I'm guessing this isn't just me then! Thanks a lot for replying!

I also got the web drivers and sleep working. It turns out all I had to do is clear the NVRAM by opening up Terminal, typing in sudo nvram -c and then reboot. Note that you can view the contents of your NVRAM by using the command nvram -p.

just did the guide, wanna trade laptops :)

I'm good with the 2070 and an external mouse for the time being, thanks for offering though :D

It would be interesting if you could check which trackpad you have. If you still have Windows installed, go to Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices -> I2C HID Device -> Details. Choose "Device instance path" in the dropdown. The 2070 model has the ELAN0406. It should say something like
"ACPI\ELAN0406\..".

I got:
ACPI\1A582002\4&10968218&0

I now have 3 operating systems fully configured to my needs on this laptop, so I did Geekbench4 test on all 3 of them...

Razer Blade 15" 144hz 2018 GTX 1060 Max-Q

Windows 10:
Single-Core Score - 4990
Multi-Core Score - 19709
Ubuntu Linux 18.10:
Single-Core Score - 5112
Multi-Core Score - 20022
MacOS 10.13.6:
Single-Core Score - 4114
Multi-Core Score - 18385

COMMENT: I do have another hackintosh with 3 OSs, Thinkpad T420s, and on that one - Geekbench4 scores are better with MacOS.
I suppose that ACPI patching provided in this guide need some more work on it, also using Intel Power Gadget on Razer Blade while doing no work and nothing but Safari open 1.2GHz CPU frequency is the lowest it can go, while on T420s it's 0.8GHz.

I got:
ACPI\1A582002\4&10968218&0

Huh, I don't recognize that at all. But then again I'm not the most knowledgeable with the trackpad stuff. Maybe there is another place to look for the name? Sure seems like it's a different trackpad. Maybe the 2060 version still has the "old" one and the 2070 has the one from last years base model. Seems weird though..
