[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I did sign off and on nothing
Your FaceTime and Messages problem may be linked to Bluetooth. The IORegistry shows:
  • WiFi is working fine
  • Your Bluetooth module is using the Broadcom 20703 firmware
  • Please see this post for important information regarding the 20703 firmware
You may need to move the WiFi/BT card to a long slot, preferably the bottom slot (farthest away from the CPU). Once Bluetooth is working, you may be able to login to FaceTime and Messages.

Here is the updated PCI picture after copying the SSDT-DTPG.aml to the patched folder. Thank you CaseySJ.

I just build my first hackintosh with the small parts as your, but I can't get it to boot using this guid:( Do you have a thread of your build or would you be willing to share the needed files? I'm a complete noob, so I am not even sure what all files to be looking for.

@manHands ,

Sounds like this may be an option, possibly ideal if it works on hackintosh out of the box. It does state that it is PCe 3.0 x1 . Downside it does not have any reviews ...

Although this card does not explicitly state macOS compatibility, it uses the Marvell 88SE9215 controller -- the same controller used in Shinestar's PCIe 2.0 SATA adapter, which does state macOS compatibility.

Welcome to the forum! However, please update your profile (Account Details section) with the name of your Motherboard, CPU, and GPU. This is required when asking for help on this website.

I do not share my CLOVER folder. The purpose of the Build Guide is not to provide a "cheat sheet" where all the answers are given. What will you learn that way? Instead, the purpose of the build GUIDE is to guide you in building your own system. It tries to be instructive, to teach you what needs to be done so that you can troubleshoot and solve most problems by yourself.

When you buy a machine from Apple, you can contact Apple's Tech Support department or visit the Genius Bar at an Apple Store. But when you build a Hackintosh, who are you going to call? There is no tech support.

So a Hackintosh should only be built if you have the willingness to learn, the time and patience to solve problems, and the attention to detail necessary to report problems with a sufficient amount of detail so others who have never seen your system can help.

By the way, I am not picking on you. This message applies to *everyone* reading this thread. I will not share my CLOVER folder because every person building a Hackintosh must become their own Primary Care Doctor! :)

So please go through the Build Guide again -- slowly. Take your time. If something in the guide is not clear, ask me.

This being your first post, welcome to the forum! But please update your profile (Account Details) by entering the name of your Motherboard, CPU, and GPU. This is required by all members when asking for help because after your second or third post we will not remember what components you have.

There are several ways of dealing with the ReadKernelCache problem:
  • Shutdown computer and remove power cable for 10 seconds. Then re-plug and see if the problem goes away.
  • If problem remains, boot the "Recovery" volume from Clover Boot Menu. Normally you would select the option to "Boot MacOS Mojave", but choose to boot the Recovery Volume.
    • If this works, run Terminal from the Tools menu.
    • Type the following:
      Code:
      cd /
      kextcache -i /Volumes/Mojave
    • Select Reboot from the Apple menu.
    • When Clover appears, choose "Boot macOS from Mojave".
  • If problem still remains, re-flash the motherboard BIOS then apply all of the BIOS parameters once again, starting with Load Optimized Defaults.
Thanks for the answer. Did all the three solution but the problem persists. It won't go over the Start ReadKernelCache. It's so frustrating because I made it yesterday before I posted here.

Please compress and upload the CLOVER folder from the USB install disk. By the way, are you pressing F12 at BIOS Splash screen and choosing to boot from the USB flash disk?

Some important news for 9700K and 9900K owners. Have to wonder how they will remove the heat produced by 9th gen chips in an iMac. The i9-9900K is an option. Please Apple, don't tell me the answer is thermal throttling the CPU.

Wow! So the 0x3E98 device ID of the UHD630 should finally be supported natively. And “About this Mac” should also identify the CPU. I would like to compare GeekBench numbers!

Oh, and there’s no T2 chip!

neither working
If Bluetooth is still not functional after moving the WiFi/BT card to a long slot (one of the three x16 slots) then it's time to consider two options:
  1. Try using a different PCIe x1 adapter.
  2. Replace the Broadcom card with one that has 20702 firmware or switch to a BCM94360CD. The 94360CD is newer, but a bit more expensive than the 93460CS2.
You still haven't mentioned the exact make and model of the WiFi/BT card. Can you share an Amazon or NewEgg link to the exact model that you have?
