OK, now it is flickering in windows as well, so I was wrong saying it didn't. At least that bit is solved so I'm marking the thread solved.

If you are experiencing problems in Windows too, then it may be the monitor or the cable.

Hmm... I don't know why you are having APFS errors. Are you using a recent version of ApfsDriverLoader-64.eft?

I tried with multiple cables. Already have RMA for replacement

Should be recent. I just created this hackintosh within the last month or so. Filename says September 21, 2018 which would be whatever's included with unibeast.

I'll take another look at your EFI folder a little later. On my way out right now.....

Please make a backup of your existing EFI folder and then try this one.

it boots if I don't have iGPU enabled. If I do, it still hangs. Anyway. I'm OK to not spend more of your time on this since I really wanted to solve the flicker issue

It's up to you, but without IGPU enabled, somethings will not work right. Quick Look and Preview will probably be broken and FCPX performance will suffer. You can work around Quick Look and Preview with that kext but it disables hardware acceleration. Real iMacs have IGPU enabled.

Please try enabling IGPU in BIOS and boot in verbose mode. Then, take a picture of where it stops.

In BIOS, I have my IGPU set as:


64MB should be fine, I just happened to have it set to 192MB when I took the screenshot.
