[Guide] Dell XPS 9350 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

Not open for further replies.
Okay, so I've tried every option that I could find online. Using the "Hackintosh-Stuff" Repo, Using "Syscl's" Repo as well as creating a USB-Stick using the barebone Laptop-Configuration from @RehabMan.
Using every Clover-Folder I could find for the "XPS13 9350".
I already did an EC-Reset which brings me no further.
Attached is a Picture of the Error.

I don't know if that error is related, but I get a "IOG 0x3 (0x51)" Error.

I used the same SMBIOS-Config, but also tried it with a 13,1 Model; as well as the 13,2 Model, which both feature an i5 instead of an i7 processor. I guess that is more or likely irrelevant? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank to whoever helps me out! :)

The EFI-Folder on which the Error occured is exactly from the first Post, but i attached it here to hopefully get a better response. (Just edited the SMBIOS to match the 9,1 config).

you have quite a few "Fixes" in config.plist you may find you don't need all those

I'm having the exact same issue. No matter which guide I try(syscl, hackintoshstuff, tlefko, and many more...) I cant get the installer to boot up. It always stops at
~errorcode: 8877652
and
busy timeout "intelFBClientControl"

Can anyone help I'm struggling with this exact same problem for days and can't find a fix for this...

Anything specific you would like to point me at? ;)

After recreating the whole USB-Drive, using the latest Clover and the Folder above, I got it to boot past that statement, normally it should take me to the Installer now. However, I just got the Apple-Logo with a loadingbar that is empty (so 0% filled) and my mouse in the top left corner, but I'm not able to move it around.
I do boot with "-v", but it still takes me to the screen after all the POST-Stuff got trough, so I cant give you any error-messages from this Point on. :(

Attached you can find the corresponding Picture.

Are you really using the SMBIOS for the 9,1 MB?
Thats what got me I guess.
Remove your Clover (NOT EFI!) Folder, and put mine to the test.
Be sure to make a EC-Reset. To do that, unscrew the Backcover, and carefully(!) remove the Lego-Style connector from the Battery. Hold the Powerbutton for around 30 seconds. (Check here: https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Dell+XPS+13+Teardown/36157)
Put everything back together and try to boot.

i would check Rehabman's config.plist from the laptop guide to compare:

please read the faq for proper hardware profile setup:

Thanks, will do!
My hardware profile is properly set up now. Thanks as well.

Edit: @Feartech I just changed the config.plist to the one provided by @RehabMan (Seriously, thanks for the amazing effort you put into the Hackintosh scene!) and changed the Model to 9,1.

It now boots up to the same Screen as in my previous Post - the only difference being that I can move my mouse around! Fantastic! Thank you for the Tip!
But how do I go on from here? I've got nothing to work with, really. I've got no Error-Messages, no Sound, just the Logo and my mouse.
Really great help so far, I really appreciate your effort!

Edit2: After letting it sit for about 15 Minutes, I got curious and clicked the LeftMouseButton on the Trackpad. Now I just got the loadingcursor in all its glory. Won't go away tho :/

Okay, so after another 6 hours of fiddling around I was still not able to successfully boot.
All I got is a mouse-cursor which I can move around freely and the Applelogo with a non-filled progressbar, after the verbose log ran trough.
Using the SMBIOS 13,1 always gives me "Busy Timeout(240s): IntelFBClientControl", so using the 9,1 SMBIOS brings me a bit closer but not to the End.
I can hear my fans spinning up as well.
I just can't seem to get this to work and I really would appreciate all the help I could get on this... :(

13,1 would be a better choice as that is Skylake or even try 11,1

try only having essential kexts in clover/kexts/other

and the same for
drivers64UEFI folder

list of essentials can be found in the laptop guide linked above

Hey,
I've created everything from Scratch using the Link to the Laptop-Guide you provided me. So I've only got the mentioned Kexts, beside AirportBrcmFixup (WifiCard not supported, only boots using the Kext) and the corresponding config.plist for the HD540.

I tried it with the 13,1 SMBIOS first, which gave me "Busy Timeout(240s): IntelFBClientControl".
As you answered I tried the same config with the 11,1 SMBIOS, which gave me "Busy Timeout(240s): IntelFBClientControl" as well. I just can't seem to find any Information about that issue online, it is pretty weird.

Attached you can find my "Barebone"-EFI Folder, using the Guide you provided, as well as a recent Photo of the verbose output. (Issue with AppleIntelFramebuffer? Not sure about that tho)
Thank you very much!

remove AirportBrcmFixup.kext from clover/kexts/other

it could be a DVMT issue are able to change this in the BIOS to 64MB or 128MB?
or try an invalid ig-platform id to see if that helps you get through the installer
