[Guide] Lenovo V330-15IKB using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Status
Not open for further replies.
Just spent forever transferring from a slow USB attached 2TB drive to my new NVMe. All was good, but trackpad was not working on reboot, but was still working on my Mojave internal SATA disk.
After some head scratching I solved it. My issue was that I was cloning High Sierra to the NVMe, but that there are 2 patches in the config.plist which match with 10.14.x ( Mojave) to stop AppleI2C kexts from attaching themselves to the trackpad. Once I removed the match OS restriction - which in fact is not needed - the trackpad was working on reboot. Maybe this is a problem some people are having???

About Ultrabay Battery i found it on AliExpress for 59€ i will order it. It should work on macos no problem but it will need a small battery patch, macos doesn't support dual batteries but they work if you merge them with ACPI edit, that's how everyone uses them here. No problem at all.
You rename BAT0 and BAT1 notifiers via hexcode acpi hotpatch, add SSDT-BATC that @RehabMan created and enjoy.
No battery status patch needed for this laptop.

I will also order the display upgrade, there are many variants, there are some 120hz and some 144hz but not something we could get much use of in terms of gaming, maybe just system level smoothness nothing else, curious if its ok at 60 fps videos etc, will that cause artifacts or something.

Sounds good @Sniki . Every day I am learning a little more about the new ways of hot patching. I look forward to learning more from you when we get the extra batteries!
By the way, the wifi card does work very well in the V330. I am using it in my workshop which is quite a way from our wifi booster and I get a full signal. It also connects effortlessly to my magic trackpad and wireless speakers so I think you will enjoy it. Also it is cheaper than the Broadcom card.

@futureorkun it appears from your IOReg ( see I2CO@15 entry) that the trackpad kexts are not loaded. Look back at my post on page 9 of this thread and try installing them into Library/Extensions ( drag them to your desktop and use KextBeast ).
it looks like you have the right patches in your config.plist to allow the correct kexts to load if they are installed correctly.
By the way, I am not sure why you are using MacBook Pro 15,1 I think 14,1 is probably a better choice.

Thanks. But the right click does not work. Can you help with this

Also Intel Bluetooth is constantly on and the battery finishes. What's the solution?

For bluetooth, fit a different card! For right click you need the bottom right corner of the trackpad

touchpad and sound doing problem. Can you give me a stable clover file? Does the touchpad work right click

There are many problems at the opening. restarting. help please

For me I used the config.plist of @Sniki, Then I used the voodoo files that I mentioned above plus my modified SSDT ( which is also on the same post ). Then audio AND trackpad worked.
If it is still not working then you will need to provide your problem reporting files again to look deeper.
Also I see your audio on your own config plist says 3, which is probably unlikely, as I use 28 ( after I deleted the audio section from the SSDT of @Sniki to use Clover inject instead). Try that.
Edit: Okay, to see if I can make it quicker for you try the attached ( with the Voodoo kexts of course in L/E ).
Edit 2: Do NOT use CX20751.kext plus I see a LOT of kexts in your "Other" folder that should not be there. Very important you actually follow the guide from @Sniki as a starting point before you then start to modify for your own set up. He wrote this guide for a reason and I can see you are mixing all sorts of things together that do not need to be done and can be messing up your install.
