My machine running SSD and i7-3770 and GT710 takes a LOT less than 5 minutes to boot. I only rarely reboot it but it is quick, likely < 1 minute to login screen.

Exactly the same config but less than 40 secs after clover screen

I made the upgrade from a HP 8300 USDT (i5-3570K, HD4000) to a HP 800 G1 USDT (i5-4570S). It was a very easy move. SSD out of the 8300 in the 800G1 and working. The only adjustment was the graphical reference for the HD4600 in the config.plist. The reason for this upgrade was my Dell U3415W. The HD4000 supported 3440x1440 at only 50Hz. The HD4600 does it at 60Hz.

Just wanted to thank @trs96 : I installed Sierra* on an HP 8300 CMT in one evening.
Everything is running perfectly (for me at least):
  • Audio: I used the "cheap" voodooHDA; I am usually using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 for this.
  • Video: GT 710, works like a charme
  • iMessage and facetime are working, thanks to the great guide from @P1LGRIM
Thanks to all of you guys!
With your help, this is the easiest Hackintosh I ever did.
Ciao, Domenico

*I am forced to stay on Sierra to use my software.

I have hp 8300 elite i5 3570 Geforce GT 730. Sierra is running very smooth. No issues. Thanks you very much. However, i tried to install high sierra it would install without any issue, but would not boot. I kept getting an error like cpu unsupported. once again thanks you very much. I fixed voodoohda low volume issue by changing VoodooHDAEnableHalfVolumeFix from false to true in the Info.plist.

boot in Verbose mode (-v) and then take a picture of the screen where it stops. Post it here.

alright thanks
You should determine if your 730 graphics card is Fermi based or Kepler based. It makes a difference.

@Duke92 if you don't know, shut down your PC. Take the card out and take a photo of the back side of it. Post it here for us to look at.

The ones with 128bit DDR3 ram and only 96 Cuda cores are fermi based. The newer Kepler cards have 300 something Cuda cores. You can also look at the codename. If it says GF108 you know it's a Fermi card.
