I have an ASUS B360M-A and just made the same mistake... Surely there must be a way to downgrade the BIOS?? Anyone? I'm also getting the "not a valid BIOS" error when trying to downgrade.
I found this method to manually update BIOS without using EZ Flash:

Hi,
seems like I damaged my bios by flashing back the board to the previous version using afuwin. When I now start the computer the fans are working but no display.
Is there a way to fix the bios or do I now have to get a new board? :thumbdown

No, CMOS reset didn’t help.
Also tried the Asus Crash free bios 3 way. If I understand that right just plugging in a fat32 formatted usb drive containing the bios is all. But nothing is happening except that the fans are starting when I turn on the computer.

This is why I haven't tried reflashing via DOS, I'm scared the same thing will happen to me! I'm currently emailing with ASUS support to try to figure out what they changed in this version of BIOS that prevents MacOS from booting. Perhaps there's some new setting enabled that's causing a conflict?

Also (though maybe I'm being too optimistic) perhaps the next release of BIOS could fix the error? If enough of us complain to ASUS!

That was my hope, too. Should have waited...
So I guess that’s it with my board or is there still a chance?

Hello, i try this on Asus Prime H310T with BIOS 2012, it finished successfully, but after restart there is still same 2012 BIOS (i try to downgrade to previous BIOS 1405).
BIOS 2012 is a disaster for ASUS users :thumbdown

I read something about the new BIOS being write protected... that would explain why.

My latest reply from ASUS support:
"I appreciate your patience and understand that this may be a hassle. I assure you that it is important to us that your issue gets resolved and we will continue to work diligently to do so.
Kindly fill out the motherboard feedback form so we can forward your issue to our product engineers."

Worth a shot I guess.

I have the same issue with Asus Prime h310m-a motherboard, still waiting for the solution from others, seem like downgrade bios using afuwin is not affected, hope it will fixed as soon as possible :<

any news? Had the same thing on my ROG STRIX h370-I Gaming.
I'm curious if it's possible to downgrade bios using this method https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1030111
Has anybody tried to flash it under win?
