@Stork I am giving up on Nvidia drivers and taking out the 980 out of the system. Will the IGPU drive 4K at 60Hz (not for gaming but desktop use)?

If yes, do I just use intel 530 or something different?

@dirtydignity, I don't know since I only have used a descrete graphics card with MyHero. You'll have to check the User's Manual. I know (from reports) that macOS doesn't not support HDMI 4K at 60MHz, only 30MHz which will give you a lousy 4K display using HDMI. So, you'll need to use the on-board DisplayPort. Maybe @pastrychef knows the answer to your question.

I don't know. I do know that 4K@60Hz was not working with Hgh Sierra but I haven't tested in Mojave. I think that 4K@60Hz support may have improved since the release of the new Mac mini, but, again, I haven't tested.

I'd be willing to test on my Skylake Clunker build but, unfortunately, the OptiPlex BIOS is very limited and I didn't even have the option to set VRAM for the HD 530. I believe this was the reason why I ended up with a very limited number of choices for screen resolutions. In the end, I just picked up a used RX 560 from eBay for $70...

@dirtydignity I had a Nvidia GTX 980 when I first started my Skylake build, and it drove me nuts looking for fixes to get it running smoothly without graphical glitches. So I sold it on eBay and switched to a Sapphire RX 580 Pulse, and it worked OOB. Even HDMI audio is working flawlessly. Get the RX 580 you wont regret it. I use mine for video editing and haven't had a single hickup.

Does anyone have problems with the microphone using Maximus VIII on High Sierra? If I'm the only one, I'll try to reinstall. However, if it's a common issue I'll buy a USB adapter as suggested.

I haven't tried the microphone (Back or Front Panel) in a while. But, it did work when I tested the system initially. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test it as I'm visiting family.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to reinstall and see if it was an install issue.
