Clover Configurator -> SMBIOS.

I think I saved a copy of my config.plist on my Mac mini, so I’ll look tomorrow and let ya know.

I thought of something crazy. Lemme run this by you:

Could i take out the ssd of my case, pop it in an enclosure and usb it into my Mac mini and then adjust the config.plist via Clover Configurator?

If I can do this, could I also just “drag and drop” kexts into their proper folders? I thought I read you couldn’t and kexts had to be “installed” with KextBeast or whatever that software is called.

Lemme know!

Cant see why that would not work But if I was you I would start all over again. On my build I must of re-installed it several times.

You can drag n drop your kexts to the clover->kexts->other folder but the for the L/E (library->Extension) folders which are to do with the system then they need to be installed and re-cached, hence KextBeast.

I don’t think I have any of those files for the library/extensions. The only files I’ve added were into the kext/other folder and the drivers64uefi folder.

Maybe that’s my issue

Sorry, I must've misread that section - I've seen a couple of those on eBay so I'll grab one.

I have some very good news to report... I've got audio working! I read through that guide a couple of times, and basically did what it said:

  • Updated Lilu and AppleALC kexts with KextBeast (I noticed these wouldn't overwrite - I had to remove the kexts from L/E before using KextBeast).
  • Used Hackintool with layout ID 7 to generate the patch code
  • Used Clover (discovered I was using version 4 of Clover - not sure how - so I downloaded the latest version, 5.3.2.0) to add the patch code to the config.plist - using cryptii to convert the base64 to hex.
  • I didn't change anything else in Clover because it all looked okay...
  • Rebooted, voila - audio! Internal speakers is mapped to the green 3.5mm jack, the two line out outputs are mapped to the black & orange 3.5mm jacks, and the digital output works with the optical output. Not tried any surround settings yet.

I'm now making copies of all the files and apps I've used in case I need to start from scratch - I kept a log of everything I did on the Hackintosh so I'll consider creating a thread like you have here, since I've gone the IGPU route from the start. Might help someone!

I'll give FB-patcher a try in making a usb.kext then!

Thanks for all your help - you've done all the hard work here, I've just reaped the benefits. Appreciate it!!

I would be interested in how you achieved your end result as I am having similar issues. Thank you for your hard work!
I look forward to your thread.

If you could post your version of EFI file I would be thankful and grateful.

Ill try to do it this weekend but you'll be missing certain kexts in the L/E folder. So your better off following that guide mentioned in #36. it will help you understand how things work and also any future hacks.
