That's totally o.k. but for sleep/wake testing purposes, please remove temporarily now also BT/WIFI adapter. We need to see if it is the latter that breaks your system sleep/wake.

If system sleep/wake works, we can start reconnecting additional USB adapter, then firewire adapter and finally BT/WIFI adapter with connected USB bluetooth cable.

Thus now, please remove BT/WIFI adapter, BT kext, additional USB adapter, firewire adapter and respective SSDT implementations as outlined in post #2,037 and report back if sleep/wake works in this case.
Thanks @kgp
I will try to remove tomorrow WIFI card.

Hi @kgp

First off can i just say WOW what a huge amount of work you have done in putting all of this together, This is a massive amount of work, so thank you very much!

I'm building my first ever Hackintosh system and decided on an X299 build after doing some research and reading over your post. I've read over your guide multiple times and i've followed every step down to a T. I believe! but have got myself stuck now at the installation process and wondering if you or anyone here could provide some insight?

I've read your entry about required files for support and I've included my EFI file and my system below. I'm not sure how to get the IOREG.save of the system's ACPI table and a system DSDT.aml though as I'm very new to this, I have no problem providing this though once someone can point me in the right direction.

My System Overview:
Intel Core i9 7920X
Gigabyte X299 AORUS Master
Powercolour Vega56 Nano
Samsung 970 PRO 1TB NVMe M.2
HyperX Fury 32GB (4x8GB) 2400MHz DDR4

The steps/issue I am having is as follows:

  1. I'm using your latest EFI-X299-10.14.3-Release-iMacPro1,1-250119.zip, I've modified all the required files and settings I believe (See attached EFI.ZIP) following along in your guide.
  2. EFI folder has been copied onto both the EFI partitions of the USB and Samsung 970 drive (that's been formatted to HFS+ on another mac, then installed into the new system)
  3. I can boot into clover on the USB disk and start the installation process but,
  4. The installations load all the way into the OSX installation Grey screen where you select your language but then the system locks up. I've tried it a few times, sometimes it makes it all the way to me being able to move my mouse and select a language, other times it just locks up as soon as the grey screen appears, sometimes the screen does not even fully load. I believe it might be a Kernal Panic (although I've very new to this sorry, so I'm not sure on the correct terminology) but that's where I'm stuck!
I've double checked my BIOS settings to make sure I've selected the correct ones from your guide for my Gigabyte x299 motherboard except I don't have the option to select Extreme Memory Profile: (X.M.P): Profile1 under /M.I.T/Advanced Frequency Settings/

I've been trying to work it out for about 4 days now myself before I wanted to bother you or anyone here but as I'm about to rip the very limited hair I have left out, I thought I had better reach out for some help! I feel like if I've gotten as far as the Language selection screen then I've got to be close! It's got to be just something in my config file or a kext file I need or don't need, but as I said I'm definitely a greenhorn when it comes to Hackintosh installs!

Anyway, I'm hoping you might be able to help, I really appreciate all the work you've put into helping the community and people like me in building such powerful machines!

1.) Apparently you did not download EFI-X299-10.14.3-Release-iMacPro1,1-250119.zip but the EFI-Folder for the 10.14.4 public betas. Thus, implemented port limit patches have been wrong and most of your USB3.0 connectors might not have been working. I now implemented appropriate USB port limit patches for 10.14.3

2.) I disabled the core scope kernel patch in the config.plist as the MSR register on GA motherboards is unlocked for kernel write.

3.) I implemented correct CPxx -> PRxx replacements for the i9-7920X and enabled all other ACPI replacements in the config.plist in Section ACPI of Clover Configurator.

4.) I added Liu.kext, AppleALC.kext and WEG.kext

The EFI-Folder attached below is for its use with 10.14.3!

If you still face issues in installing the latter macOS version, please check and verify your BIOS settings.

Good luck,

KGP

BTW.. for consecutive steps in the post installation process you need Apple's IOREGExplorer.app and Rehabman's version of MaciASL.app (attached to my guide).

Wow I didn't expect for you to get back to me that quickly! Let alone go to that much effort for me, thank you so much! I really appreciate it!

Sorry if this is a dumb question but do I need to put this new EFI folder onto the EFI partition of the Samsung drive as well? or just onto the USB install drive? I only ask wasn't sure If i needed to update the EFI folder on the system drive before the install or if you format the drive during the install process in which case it would wipe the EFI partition anyway as the drive is already formatted as HFS+ per your instructions but I also noted in your instructions that mojave will force new clean installs to be APFS.

Thank you again for your help! I will test out the new EFI folder and hopefully that fixes it!

Just install revised EFI-Folder in EFI-partitions of both USB Flash Drive and and macOS system disk.

Good luck,

KGP

No one can answer faster than @kgp.
Some times I am wondering if he even sleeps!?

Hi @kgp

I tried the new EFI folder you sent through but unfortunately it's still doing the same thing. I have attached photos of my BIOS settings to see if that helps. I've also posted a shot of the last thing thats posted on screen before either Kernal Panics or loads the Language page and then freezes up.

Thanks again for your help.

Either KP or freezing at language screen.. these are two different things and I don't like to choose between two different options.

Which water blocking are you using for the i9-7920X? Which PSU?

1.) Lower "turbo ratio" to "32" for all cores for now

2.) Change package C state limit to C6 (retention mode) if possible

3.) Disable EIST

4.) What about AVX and AVX-512 offsets?
