Thank you friends i am finally able to install mac os high sierra on my evga x58 system. i have borrowed gt 710 from my friend to do the framebuffer step suggested by gio321 but i am facing a problem. i cant boot to the mac os ssd without high sierra installation usb drive. i have tried installing clover(legacy one) on my mac os ssd and changed config.plist with the one on installation usb and copied all the necessary kexts.NOTE: mac os got installed on apfs format automatically. what should i do? any help would be appreciated.

APFS format works well on SSDs, but not on HDDs. I am currently running Mojave with APFS. Use the latest Legacy Clover build r4862-Legacy download from the forum - https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/clover-uefi-boot-mode-v2-4k-r4862.416/

It already has patches needed in config.plist if you do not have a DSDT customized for your hardware.

Just updated to 10.14.4 Beta (18e184e) and all is working well.
Updated Clover to latest Legacy build in forum downloads along with latest lilu.kext and whatevergreen.kext first and the update went smoothly.

I appreciate your running updates and your posts. I'm in the process of attempting to install Mojave on my rig today, as the 5770 died and the replaced 580 didn't work well with 10.10. Who knew?

Just updated to 10.14.4 Beta (18e184e) and all is working well.
Updated Clover to latest Legacy build in forum downloads along with latest lilu.kext and whatevergreen.kext first and the update went smoothly.

well - that was one long and so far unsuccessful process.

Ran through several iterations of attempting to install with Clover (I haven't updated to Clover either since Chameleon was working fine on my 10.10 system) Got Clover to actually run and kick off the Mojave install with your previous posts on your Clover config with the additions for the 580 kexts. It's very streamlined from the default you get with Unibeast and some of the removals are likely why it actually works, and works much faster. Why there are 32 bit pieces in there for Mojave, a fully 64bit system, is a bit of a riddle to me. Would seem that as Mojave (and everything back through 10.9?) doesn't run on anything less than 64 bit that Unibeast could drop 32bit also.

At this point, I had major issues getting the installer to work. Back to your posted configs regarding the config.plist and your DSDT, which should be very close to my X58A-UD5. Yours has quite a few additional bits in there. Again heavy editing, and then in a bit of frustration, I copied the whole thing and then successfully got through a significant amount of the installer, until... black screen.

As I'm running on a 580, from the AMD guide I see that I need to add a few more details to config.plist, and hopefully that will be addressed, and I'll double check a few of the DSDT fields, as I'm pretty sure at least one of those is different on my system.

At this point, I'd like to ask your opinion on whether to continue with the Mojave efforts this weekend considering where I am, or to drop to High Sierra first as it supports the 580 and should be easier to successfully install.

Add whatevergreen.kext and lilu.kext to your installer Clover/kexts/other folder or the 10.14 folder so your RX580 will work.

Since this build is registered in the Beta Program I do not have to go looking for the download - it happens automatically and notifies me the update is available so I can either reboot and install immediately or choose a later time to install the update. I do have to keep a current CCC copy as a backup in case the update makes it unbootable (or it boots to black screen - as happened a couple of times before I learned to update Clover and the kexts before updating).

i managed to install mac os high sierra on my evga x58 system. but when the pc is put to sleep it won't wake up afterwards. just a blinking cursor appears on the screen. can any one tell me how to fix this sleep issue?

Add whatevergreen.kext and lilu.kext to your installer Clover/kexts/other folder or the 10.14 folder so your RX580 will work.

I got those from your postings Hence the comment on how helpful your posts are. Lots of information in there.

The interesting thing was that until I copied your DSDT and used that instead of mine, a DSDT that has worked since at least 10.8 through 10.12 and which is the standard one for my board from the downloads plus some stuff from d00d's insanely mac posts for power management and maybe some audio info, I pretty much got nowhere on the install as it halted after "successfully" loading an Apple driver. The differences between the two include a variety of keys set to false that I didn't have. It'll be interesting to track that back to the offender, but not sure I have the time.

I didn't get a chance to work on it this weekend, but will give it another go this week.

That's power management. I'd love to be able to tell you more first hand, but as I'm still tackling the install, I can only refer you to Going Bald's posts on this topic - check his history on 10.13 installs. He's got a config.plist posted that includes settings he's pulled from a variety of sources to tweak his board. Those related posts may put you on the right path as well.
