OK...
In my case when USB3.0 is enabled boot fails (screen with Apple error message in multiple languages) and then the machine reboots. at the second boot it reaches the login screen normally and the machine works. I didn't test yet if USB3.0 ports are functional/not functional and what speed they get if they are functional.

IDK if the Z68AP has a different USB 3.0 controller than my Z68MA but I'm pretty sure they won't work in HS or Mojave. Let us know what you find out.

It seems I get USB3.0 speed on the ports that work but not all of them work.
This might be important for 6-series MB owners and the recomendations on the OP of this thread. I will thus create a new thread. Please have a look at it :)

Apparently it's the same chip on both MBs

Last year, I used the High Sierra guide to install that OS. Had to fiddle with the Audio to get it to work.
This year, I used the Mojave guide to do a fresh install. Same hardware. The Audio just plain worked, no fiddling.

Nice job, guys.

I installed everything according to the Guide. But, after installation I boot to the hard drive from the USB. The progress bar almost finishes. Then my computer restarts and keeps on doing that. Someone please help
