Motherboard
ASRock X299e
CPU
i9 9940x
Graphics
VEGA RX 64
Mac
  1. iMac
  2. MacBook Pro
Mobile Phone
  1. iOS
Finally Manage to make on of the most powerful and tiny Hackintosh available with > the i9-9940X 14 cores + the AsRock X299e motherboard and Vega RX 64 8GB.

Used for Editing, Motion Design and VFX on Mojave 10.14.1
Exports time >Four time faster compared to my last i7 6 cores hackintosh.

Need to add a lot of parameters to get the config.plst to work but once it's right it Works very smoothly!

Geekbench scores
Multi core : 54000 (above the iMacPro 18 cores)
Single core : 5200
GPU : 186 800

What works :
Ethernet / All USB 3.1 ports
Audio
iMessages / iCloud
Turbo Boost up to 4.2 Ghz all core

Bluetooth & wifi
The blue tooth dongle - Azus works but only for short terme
Best solution to get native bluetooth and wifi support (and being able to control you BIOS and clover with bluetooth peripherals) is to replace the Bluetooth/Wifi card with : Bcm94360cs2 and its adaptor
NGFF M.2 Key

USB 3 ports work fine Thanks to kubusikan kexts -->
USB 3.1 type C WORK in full speed
The remaining 4 USB 3 of the MOB and the front IO work fine !

XRP RAM OVERCLOCK : YES
CPU Overcloking to 4.5GHz may work but did experience some freeze/crash and didn't notice any increase in render time when activated.

NEW UPDATE SINCE MOJAVE 10.14.3:

About to build a similar system, would love to get more details :)

Just made a video about it :) - I'm speaking french but with english subtiles !

Do have some update concerning the USB ports of the mother board --> The 2 USB 3.1 WORK in full speed - but for the remaining 4 USB, 3 work only as USB 2 - didn't find a fix for that yet... if anyone made it work please feel free to let me know

Hello,
I'm french too and I reallllly enjoy you video. BEIMMMM! It's very well edited. Fun and clear. Thank you very much.

I'm a newbie in hackintosh world. I'm really curious about how you did with the OS installation.
I'm working on davinci resolve. I'd like to know if with your configuration, it will be possible to use a nvidia GTX GPU wen drivers will be out.

Also I'd like to know if you can use a larger case (the only hardware which is not the same as yours is the GPU) . Which one would you recommand?
Sorry for my english, I might ask you some questions in french in pm.

if you want to go with larger case > NZXT Cases are very interesting/nice looking - and concerning GPU I would say that yes NVIDIA DRIVERS worked as well but you have to be very careful when updating the OS - and you can't install Mojave with a NVIDIA card need to have a RADEON just for the install (but you won't have this issue if you instal High Sierra) and also find out that Radeon GPU are optimised for DaVinci.

Nice build HackJack!

I too use this board in a NCASE M1 and am pleased by what is possible in such a tiny space.

You might want to try the kext i made for my ASRock X299E-ITX/ac and posted in this thread:

Also you might check out this very helpful thread from @kgp. But i think you have seen it already. ;)
I followed it since the end of 2017 and got my tiny Hack working nicely.

Regarding the WiFi/Bluetooth, one option is to replace the card on the board with a "real" Apple card.
It requires a little bit of work as this solution does not fit inside the metal housing of the Intel card that comes with the board. But in my point of view it is worth it!

I'm waiting a bit for $, and then... BAM

Can you please share the efi folder and bios settings you used? I have the x299 itx with vega 64 and 7980xe and I'm having trouble booting the installer

Hi would you be willing to share the efi files you used so I can try this on my system?
