1060 or 1070 btw? Some posters on last page thought it matters.

Yes indeed it is a very interesting thread, resuming all steps we have to do in order.
Unfortunately I tried several times.

OK guys, so I have a good and a bad news. The good one is that my Hack is working now with graphic accelerations ! The bad one is that I've just installed an AMD Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX580 8GB for the hack.

Moreover I didn't have to install any special drivers or kext for this. I installed AMD drivers on the Windows SSD but it's really independant. In High Sierra SSD when I was on the Clover menu, the resolution had already been improved. The same on the desktop then. Natively supported I guess.
I think my 1060GTX Windforce OC 6GB wasn't compatible. Maybe it was VBIOS, maybe the core itself, anyway I couldn't update the BIOS (already up-to-date, in Gigabyte website). So Nvidia it's over for me so far. I'm a bit sad, the 1060 is a great card, but now I don't want to spend more time on it.
I keep in touch on this tread to know if you find a brilliant solution !

Hey guys, some good news here. Yesterday I installed Mojave and now the hack is running great, no problems till now @improbable I'll suggest to do that if you can.

Congrats! But thought there weren't Mojave NVidia drivers yet, have you tricked it to use the old ones somehow?

Indeed fewer glitches, haven’t fully tested the card but they say that even if it’s listed correctly we don’t have full acceleration. Will try to test tomorrow.

In case anyone is watching this & curious: I found a gtx 650 ti going cheap, and stuck it in. This works beautifully on high sierra without web driver; I'm told Mojave should work too but haven't yet tried that.

But to run CUDA you do need the web driver, and after installing that (387.10.10.10.40.105) it still works fine... and sees that there is something in the other slot, but can't talk to it correctly:

Maybe that helps narrow things down? Certainly rebooting & seeing whether this has changed would be less painful than rebooting & seeing if it hangs.

I'm on High Sierra 10.13.6. It was working perfectly fine with GTX 750 Ti on Nvidia Webdriver. But I swapped it out with GTX 1060 (GDDR5X version), then the computer entered into login loop as you guys described. I have tried Lilu and nvidiagraphicsfixup but it didn't work. Has anyone figured out how to fix this? Thanks.
