pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Wow. Your Vega runs ridiculously cool. Mine is at about 40C with fan at 900rpm. So, no, I've never tried to set the fan to completely stop. The lowest I've ever tried to set my fan is 800rpm. At 900rpm, I can't hear it so that's fine for me.
At idle? Wow... That's odd since you have liquid metal on yours and mine is stock.
Maybe its because I have an open case and it's winter out here. I guess i'll settle for 600Rpm or something then, thanks.

@pastrychef - Changing the shikigva flag to 1 also fixed DRM for me, but broke Quicksync/h.264 hardware encoding under FCPX, at least my setup with the 9900k and spoofed IGPU. I know you don't use FCPX, but figure I would mention it. shikigva=57 also break hardware encoding. Shikigva=60 maintains hardware encoding, as well as removing any shikigva flags, but results in DRM not working

Thanks for the info. I'll update post #1 with the info later.

Edit:
If you have time, can you please try shikigva=61? Thanks.

I have my HBM clocked much higher than stock.

Nah, at least not for me. I was on 10.14.2 and performance compared to 10.14.0 was already low, I updated to 10.14.3 in hopes it would be fixed or better but the results are mostly the same.
A healthy implementation of 10.14.2 results in a quick machine using iGPU alone or iGPU + discrete GPU.
I've tested 4/5 machines already.

We won't know for sure until someone has one in their hands to test it, but I'm very hopeful that Vega 7 will work with macOS.

Yeah, it might take a while... on the other hand Vega might drop a price a little bit
Do you know, is there an option on Vega for full fan stop under macOS?
Just read the thread, yeah seems that there is an option.

@pastry I’ve got a new videocard and want to update -> Mojave (from HS 13.6)
Sapphire nitro+ vega 56, worked OOB, used Watevergreen for 2nd screen.
Can I simply update with Appstore download?
Or?
I don’t want to break a working system :)

Yes. You can just update from App Store.

Anyone upgrading to Mojave with a Geforce card should know that there are no nvidia drivers for Mojave yet!!

Even though I upgraded without issues... I found out the drivers had not been released yet! I'm glad I took the time to clone my High Sierra install before upgrading :)

@pastrychef Thanks for all your help!
Ok, I'm gonna try the update. -> Yes - Mojave is installed

Another question, the VGTab-app does not allow me to make a kext file.
Can I use your settings/kext file?
I looked in your #1 post, there's a zip file, but no kext?

I made this, is it correct for the Vega 56?

I can't tell by looking at that... You can use the settings from post #5295.
