Bit of a newbie trying to brave the "Vanilla" method by reading extensively about this, but have run into a major snag.
There are so many guides out there using this board and none of them seem to have reported this problem.

My kexts are : Lilu.kext, VirtualSMC.kext, WhateverGreen.kext, USBInjectAll.kext
My Drivers65UEFI : ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi, FSInject-64.efi, HFSPlus-64.efi, VirtualSMC.efi

Can someone please look at the screenshot where my system hangs and give my a pointer. I've swapped and changed files to no end and nothing has gotten me beyond this point.

Sorry I realized that my system config is in the signature.
Also not sure why the image came up upside down. It's right side up on my desktop.

  • What do you actually mean/imply by the TITLE of your post?
Mojave Install Hangs before even getting to the first screen.
    • What is "the first screen"?
  • Your Profile shows your Motherboard as :
    Hackintosh (Hopefully)
    • That makes no sense
      • These are the types of things that could diminish the quality of a Forum that is by far the most often viewed/used Hackintosh Forum in my opinion.
      • It goes against the Rules and true spirit of this Forum.
  • No Hackintosh troubleshooter can/should analyze a verbose boot screen without knowing the BIOS Menu choices used without an uploaded config.plist that would make use of the listed kexts files in CLOVER/kexts/Other and efi.files in /drivers64UEFI to boot that USB Installer.

I'm not sure if you actually posted this response BEFORE I realized that my profile was rubbish. You have a valid point, my apologies.

The first screen refers to the very first installer screen on MacOS that asks you to choose the language. I didn't even get there. The system would hang, at the stage of the SMC check, which I can only imagine, based on my cursory understanding of the verbose text.

Anyways, buried in some forum I found someone else who had the same issue and suggested downgrading the Motherboard BIOS. My Gigabyte Z370 bios was on F6 when the board was opened and I updated it to the latest version (12c). I then downgraded it by one increment (to version 11). That fixed the problem immediately and I am running my Mac.

Thank you for responding.

Thank you for posting the details of your problem booting and how you fixed that. This way your post serves as an answer to those who seek help to fix the issue from a BIOS issue affecting macOS USB Installer Boot.
Your fixed profile Hardware SPECS looks very helpful to understand the contents of your post
If you Prefix the TITLE [SOLVED] it becomes a search term to find this Post.
