[Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

Same problem here with AORUS Z370 Ultra Gaming. No success in booting OSX, even with newest Clover rev.
Stay on latest NON-beta on all Z370 seems to be strongly recommended!

I have tested the last BIOS (in my case the F13b) and unfortunately it does not work. I remain stuck on:
PTIDSensor: started

For those interested in the Thunderbolt hotplug, I communicate that the problem is related to the BIOS version that is used, in my case for the GB Z370 UG the version that allows me to have the fully hotplug functional is the F10.

A short time ago I explained to the GB support my experience and suggested to bring the changes present in the F10 version even in the most updated versions of all MB, so that everyone could have the TB hotplug.
I was hoping this BIOS was the turning point, but...

This is the Anthracite Gray Color instead of Galaxy Silver

You can currently buy this at Newegg.com for 85 USD after rebate.
Note that it still has the AL side panel on the right instead of glass.
Nicely hides all your cables that are visible with the tempered glass
when you buy the other version. Really high quality materials and
craftsmanship. I'd say it's better than any other case at this price.

The strongest features are it's looks, obviously, cable management
and the awesome hinged doors that open and close easily. If you
are frequently opening your case and making hardware changes
it's worth buying for that unique feature alone. This is built to last.

The all black version sells for $180 plus shipping
The Galaxy Silver is completely sold out. Probably
because it looks the most Classic Mac Pro like !

If you don't have the Gigabyte Gaming 7 motherboard yet there
is also a 30 dollar rebate on that at Newegg. Final price is about
180 USD. Another really good deal on the most important part
of this HackaShaq Mac Pro build. Don't miss out on this chance.

Is this is with nothing running but Intel Power Gadget?
In BIOS do you have (Advanced CPU Options< EIST disabled?

When I'm running Pro Tools, that program (Pro Tools) it pretty much shoves aside the notion of "power saving" so that it can blast a big CPU/Memory/GPU load "allocate resources" onto whatever project I'm running.

Hi @JimmakoS, long time since I heard from you. I guess your build has been kind to you.
This is what I have in my config.plist for power management:

Which gives me this when system is idling:

Have you checked all of your BIOS settings?

I'm using Clover 4844 with NVRAM, as the Z370 supports native NVRAM. Have you cleared your NVRAM after your upgrade by hitting F11 at the Clover Boot menu, and are you sure you are booting off the correct config.plist, i.e. you don't have multiple EFI partitions, that you are booting off accidentally? Others have fallen into this trap.

All well with my attempt at this build, which is lucky given my lack of technical chops. I'm just noticing that I'm only getting about half of the expected audio volume on High Sierra (I'm on max volume in sound preferences and on my speaker, but only getting low actual sound output on speakers). How do I fix this?

Second question. Is it possible to run Parallels from a separate Windows-only hard drive, as opposed to installing Windows 10 via Parallels on the OSX disk?

With Parallels Desktop I believe you can run Windows from its own hard drive. I haven't done this my self, but I believe you create a new OS and select the 'Boot Camp' option. See image below.

Regarding your audio volume. Assuming you have configured your sound correctly, and are plugged in to the correct O/P jack, BTW it's a different one to Windows (the one on the top of the Optical output).

Also make sure if using iTunes the volume control is turned up full. It's at the top left of iTunes, it is seperate to the systems volume control.

Hopefully this will get you going.
