From AMD9500Controller.kext, my MSI RX460 2G OC also have this issue, add Acre FB data may reduce fan noise after GPU high load but don't fully fix this issue, flashed and tested many OC version VBIOS from other GPU vendors, same issue, finally flashed PowerColor RX560 VBIOS (lower PState) fix this issue, seems to be common issue for OC Edition

Ok, but i never had this high fan speed issue prior to macOS 10.14.4

Seems to be some change on FB and Graphics kexts, both my RX460 and RX570 do not have this issue on 10.14.4.

This high fan speed issue only happens when wake up from sleep and play video for a while, if i close the video, fan speed goes down to zero. If i play the video again, high fan speed again, make a lot of noise.

Tried remove whatevergreen, dummy141.kexts, same thing.

I guess this is why it is called beta :) wait for apple to solve this issue.

RX570 also has wake up high fan speed issue but only one second, others OK, RX460 has no issue.

Problem solved, I install a fresh macOS 10.14.4 beta1 into another SSD, and then copied the '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleGVA.framework' to this SSD, problem solved. attached is the untouched one from fresh installed macOS 10.14.4 beta1.

No more high fan speed after wake up. // I think i somehow screwed up the file's codesign.

EDIT: this does not work, it just take longer to get to high fan speed. Even the fresh installed macos 10.14.4 gets high fan speed

Normally, if only replace framework info.plist or executable AppleGVA (untouched), codesign will not broken, does not need rebuild codesign, just update dyld share cache OK.

If copy xxxx.framework to other location, replace info.plist or patch / mod executable file then copy back, better rebuild codesign before update dyld share cache.

What i know is that it is possible to enable RX 580 hardware decoding and encoding, but it is very unstable which causes system random freeze. In a word, RX 5xx is useless on that purpose.
Ah, I think I have experienced these system freezes... I have Netflix in safari finally working but I can't export anything in iMovie/FCP.

/edit This is still on 10.14.3, I just caught up with this thread. Looks like 10.14.4 solves a lot of these issues, not sure I want to install a beta though. Is there a way to use some of the 10.14.4 files in 10.14.3 to make it work?

Hi folks, I've installed the beta 1 (Mojave 10.14.4 beta 1) and I confirm that VideoProc no longer freezing.
iTunes DRM streaming and Netflix on Safari works like a charm.

For my system, wasn't necessary to add any bootarg. I'm using a iMac15,1.

I'm testing now how is export in FCPX.
