Pupin's patch is to run macOS. Without such patch you don't run any macOS period. He said there's a bug in the BIOS. My experience is without the patch no macOS, with the patch, yes, macOS.

Did anyone experience coil whine from the Motherboard?
My current setup: ASRock Z390 ITX, i7-8700k, Corsair LPX 2x16gb 3200 and Corsair SF600.
I can clearly hear that it comes from VRM on the motherboard during MacOS loading or just dragging the mouse around.

I was able to fix it in Windows 10 by disabling C-States in the BIOS, but no luck in MacOS (Clover has all C-State disabled, C-Generate and P-Generate are also disabled).

Any advice?

Do you mind sharing your setup? That is my second motherboard, RMAed the first one.

i5 CPU, SilverStone SX650-G PSU, Kingston memory (don't remember the model).
Are you sure it's not your PSU whining?
