Hello !

I finally trade my GTX 980ti for a RX 580 because the tweak for using the High Sierra Web Drivers on Mojave without acceleration is not anymore acceptable. So I'm now on macOS 10.14.2, but there's several problems I don't know how to solve.

1. I've to connect my display with HDMI because DP is not detected. I tried both cables on the motherboard and on the GPU ports, then the only "working" combination is the HDMI on the GPU port. But there's no input, complete black screen, from the boot till the login screen of macOS. So I can't see the Clover menu nor the Apple boot logo. But the worst is that's the same for Windows, no boot screen till the login. Then I can't even see the BIOS nor the boot manager. By the way, I get this problem since I switched from the GTX 980ti to the RX 580.

2. the Preview app don't work correctly. Most of the time it crashes (the fancy infinity rainbow), I can't open any image. Pdf work sometimes but still unstable.

3. when I switched the GPU, the first boot on High Sierra was successful, I don't remember what I did (really not much, maybe just reinstalling Whatevergreen), but for the first time of all my hackintosh, the i7 4790k was correctly detected (About this Mac, HD4600 with good amount of VRAM etc). Then, I updated to Mojave and that was over, the CPU is just "i7" and "Monitor 22mb VRAM".

4. all my USB 3 ports are detected as USB 2 so very poor performances, I thought I was using the right kext from Multibeast but finally not..

Please, if you think about a solution for any of these problems, I would be so much grateful.

I've attached the Problem Reporting zip with anything needed I think. Feel free to ask any precision about my build !

Thanks you

Sorry for upping the topic but it's really important for me

Just gave some of your files a quick look. You should be using the profile 15,1 not 18,3 as you have Haswell.
You haven't created a SSDT-UIAC-ALL.dsl.
Delete the entry in you clover config.plist under devices-FakeID:intelGFX

Maybe some more stuff. Ill look more closely when I have time.

Thanks you ! I'll try that and feed back asap.

  • Pardon me if I sound too dense to understand what you meant in the above portion of your post.
    • If you cannot see the Clover Boot Manager Screen with the Windows and Mac Devices icons, how are you able to boot into Hackintosh Mojave and Windows (10?) ?
  • Are you using BIOS and select Windows Boot Manager there and Disable Mojave in the BIOS Boot Option Priority list and vice versa each time?
  • Are you able to see Boot Devices Screen (F-11 Screen in MSI) and selecting the devices?

In Bios set PEG instead of IGPU for initial boot display output. This will give you bios and clover screen through the RX card. My pic shows multi screen disabled but you can set to enabled and use 64Mb DVMT ram setting for h264 and h265 encoding. See third pic (last).

I knew it was not that clear, sorry I'm really not comfortable in English. I'll retry to explain that :

- Without the RX 580 (completely removed of the motherboard) :
  • connected by DisplayPort to the motherboard, and then using the IGPU of the i7, everything is working. I can see all of the Boot Manager (Windows/Clover) and see to the BIOS. But the IGPU is not correctly detected by Mojave then it's flickering and full of lags.

- With the RX 580 installed on the motherboard :
  • connected by DP to the MB, I can see the Clover Boot Manager, but boot of macOS is stuck at the end (I'll add a screenshot of Verbose mode)
  • connected by DP to the RX, I can't see nothing.
  • connected by HDMI to the MB, I can't see nothing.
  • connected by HDMI to the RX, I can't see any Boot Manager (Windows/Clover) nor the BIOS menu, but I know that pushing Enter will boot to macOS, and pushing Left then Enter will boot Windows. I can't see anything until the login page for both Windows and macOS.
I hope it's a bit clearer, sorry it's really hard to explain it in English.

The option is already set PEG. Is the multi screen option useful if I only have one screen ?

  • Thank you , I got it now!:)

  • I am now checking your EFI Folder in detail to correlate its contents with the information I have about your setup You had just posted.
  • I will upload screen shots with my comments to help you with some suggestions to try.
  • I will be back shortly with the edited screen captures as add-on to this thread.
Edited to add the following:

  • Please try editing your config.plist _Gui_ Console Screen Resolution to a smaller value as shown in the uploaded screen shot. May be your Monitor ( what is its make and Model?) would provide its own max Resolution once your System loads the Right Kext later when either Windows or Mac is booted from CBM screen.
  • Once you try that and if CBM screen comes in view to select the OS you want to boot, then I can say we are in the right track and then and then only, you may replace your CLOVER from the System Disk/EFI/CLOVER with the edited CLOVER.zip I've uploaded that has a few more editing hoping to fix your Preview problem too .
    • You should, obviously, Unzip and Extract CLOVER from the archive to use it.

Amazing! Thanks you so much for your time, I’ll try this right now.

My screen is a HP Envy 34.

I am not familiar with MSI BIOS menu. In Gigabyte 300 Series, to use Radeon Rx 560/570/580, you have to use CSM Enabled . Do you have Compatibility Support Mode in your MSI BIOS?
