AppleHDA HDMI Audio [Guide]

there's a chance I can make it work by following one of the guides to patch the framebuffer?
Yes, not a guarantee.
editing framebuffer name in Clover back to the "invalid argument" Oland makes the HDMI port work again. Can this be relevant in any way?
No. Clover injects Oland, macOS rejects the instruction and loads the default framebuffer. When macOS loads a valid framebuffer, the card is recognized and reported correctly. Without a valid framebuffer, macOS cannot specifically identify the card and loads default family name and framebuffer.

Makes perfect sense. What I find strange is that if I do NOT inject Oland in Clover, the HDMI port is dead. If I do, it comes alive and outputs the screen.
In all of this, "Oland" isn't even a frame buffer name. Don't you find it odd? ><

Red herring
Missed Post #973:

Okay, my English is obviously inadequate- I didn't miss that post, I read all your answers very carefully, it is now clear why I have no HDMI output; what I meant is, isn't it strange that injecting a nonexistent/unsupported framebuffer name (Oland) makes the HDMI port come alive?

No. The driver works as designed. The behavior is expected, your graphics card is unsupported in macOS.

One of the tools on SourceForge (DCPIManager) is very old and SourceForge warns of malware. Is this the best place to get it? I had DP audio when I first plugged in the monitor, but after reboot, it is gone. I too have a broken signed AppleHDA and can't get a copy of High Sierra in the App store, it is no longer there. I have an older version of High Sierra on Unibeast. Can I just reinstall over 10.13.6?

False fail, the tool is designed to patch binaries; not malware. Not convinced, don't use it. SourceForge is the only place to get it.

Not likely.

Yes.
Or, extract UniBeast/AppleHDA.kext with Pacifist, install, restart, run 10.13.6 Combo Update, restart.

Update. If I boot with HDMI, unplug and plug in DP, it works. If I boot with DP, I have to unplug DP and plug in HDMI and then it works. In both cases, the sound icon flashes and sound occasionally skips. I wonder if installing 10.13.6 over my current installation will fix the AppleHDA kext and work. I figured as much with DCPI manager by nature of what it does. I'm comfortable installing it, just wanted to make sure. I just cloned my drive, so I'll give it a shot. Thanks again for the great work.

Normal, Nvidia driver problem.
Driver initialization during boot does not work, hot plug does.
