Did you go the Mojave route? Im having some issues with the guide and the 1070. I just have a feeling its Mojave

Yeah, using the newest build of Mojave. No issues for me at all, not sure if you're referring to the 1070 itself causing issues or the blade you have is the 1070 model - but I have the 1070 disabled in MacOS as I don't use an external display - so there is no need for me to have it enabled.

Ya its after i install the kexts and the new config when it goes to boot its a black screen(normal) but i dont see any apple logo or anything with a flash light so i leave it and around the 3 min mark i get the verbose boot information but no KP and it just stays there. If i boot with the first config i can get it to boot with everything working. So im just going through it hopefully this week to see the item causing the issue.

Did you repatch your DSDT and SSDT-10-OptTabl after updating everything?

Did you unlock your BIOS and change the DVMT setting to 64MB?

Also you shouldn't be getting any black screen. Something is wrong. Do you have any kexts still in the EFI-Clover-Kexts folder?

The only reason you wouldn't be able to boot with the new Config.plist is if you didn't unlock your BIOS and change the DVMT settings and/or you didn't actually update WhateverGreen and Lilu.

The old config.plist has the the DVMT patch to let the laptop boot without changing the DVMT setting on the laptop itself. This patch does not work correctly with the new WhateverGreen and will result in inconsistent boots that will just get stuck at the loading screen with no KP.
The new config.plist does not have the DVMT patch and because of this your laptop will not boot unless you have changed the DVMT setting in the BIOS so it works natively with OSX.

The new config.plist also has new Framebuffer patch requirements to fix the black screen issue.

So yes i did unlock the bios and changed the DVMT settings. yes updated the WG and Lilu. I can't re-patch the DSDT since I can't login after i do the dump from clover to access it. Will try some things this week and report back

Did you delete your patched DSDT file before trying to make the changes?

Also double check to make sure that the new versions of the kexts actually installed. Sometimes apps that install kexts don't overwrite the originals and you still get stuck with the old versions

Did you keep your flash drive you used to install mojave? You can always boot back into osx using the flash drive, as long as you kept clover on it.

I am running on Mojave perfectly fine. I had a similar issue after installing the updated KEXT were the permissions on my Library/Extensions folder broke. Booting using my USB recovery drive and running the following terminal commands fixed my boot problem.

sudo chown -R 0:0 /Library/Extensions/*
sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions/*

The only issue I am seeing now is my imessages and facetime doesn't seem to want to authenticate with the invalid serial numbers.

iMessages and Facetime is mentioned in the Final Stretch section of the guide. Follow the guide in this link to make it work properly: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/an-idiots-guide-to-imessage.196827/
