[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

No Difference :(
This evening I can check the USB SSDT for Fractal Design. You currently have 14 ports, so adding HS12 will be perfectly fine for a total of 15. Anyway, unless someone finds an answer sooner, I'll check this from home later today.

In your config.plist, Row 3 BusID is set to 0x04. Have you tried 0x06? Also, platform ID 0x3E920000 is a mobile CPU platform, hence index 0 is set to LVDS (for the built-in LCD screen). Any platform ID with an LVDS connector must be avoided when using a Desktop CPU.

Row 1: Index 1, BusID 0x01, Type HDMI
Row 2: Index -1, BusID 0x00, Type Dummy
Row 3: Index 3, BusID 0x06, Type DP

Thanks again CaseySJ! - Using those connector settings and the recommended platform ID (0x3E9B007) stabilized DP issues. Still need to test HDMI scenarios.

It took me two flashes for it to stick. Not sure why. The second time to F6a. I double checked, unplugged the Power Cord and triple checked. All good.

That's normal because, if one of your boots fail, the Gigabyte is booting from second BIOS by default (which is normaly the older on or vice versa). It took me some time to figure that out. That can be a reason for suddenly not booting systems. :)

Yea, I suspected that. Someone else had that issue. Interesting I did this in the middle of getting everything else up and running. I had a few boot fails lol! I went from F3 to F5 and that reverted to F3. Then I went to F6a and it defaulted back to F5. Now I am fully up on F6a as mentioned.

I believe ripe_md intentionally disabled HS12 for his use case. Attached is a new version that enables it for your Fractal Design R6. Please delete the existing version from your CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder and copy this one.

This got 12 working although f2 and f3 still do not work but I don't need these ports anyways. F1 is usb C and transferred faster to a usb C flash drive faster than my new MacBook ! Thanks again for the guide!

The Fractal Define R6 has 5 USB ports on the front:
  • Two USB 3.1 ports F3 and F4 -- handled by the motherboard USB3.1 header labeled F_USB30. Once you connect the cable, these ports will be fully active.
  • Two USB 2.0 ports F1 and F2 -- handled by the motherboard USB2.0 header labeled F_USB. However, this motherboard header is connected to the Broadcom WiFi/BT card to provide Bluetooth support, so it CANNOT be used to accommodate F1 and F2. So unfortunately, F1 and F2 on the front panel will NOT work. Actually, only HS11 is needed for Bluetooth. HS12 was therefore deactivated to save a port.
  • One USB 3.1 Gen 2 via USB Type C -- handled by the motherboard USB3.1Gen2 header labeled F_USB31C. Once you connect the cable, this port will be fully active.

HDMI works on boot! Just no longer have the Mac OS scaled resolutions. I have to separately enable HiDPI resolutions and refresh rate limited to 30/24Hz via HDMI.

Thanks any downside to activating HS12?

Here's a comparison of KGP's FakeSMC (left) and standard MultiBeast FakeSMC (right).

Yes I know Fan speeds and Voltages are still missing. Frequency data is broken down by CPU on the left side, but only rolled-up values are shown on the right side. Not a significant difference for most people.

I have same problem..
Will you let me know the way to make FakeSMC show Fandspeed and voltage info ?
