No, you don't if using Clover with the FakeSMC in the EFI (at least the latest version of Clover that I use, upgraded on top of the EFI from the tutorial, and OSX 10.14.2).
I am suggesting to remove simply because my 9560 won't boot 10.14.2 after adding FakeSMC to /Library/Extensions.
That can help the ones giving up the tutorial and trying a different one.
The FakeSMC will still be loaded from Clover, just not from Extensions. I can see it from kextstat.
But no sensors will show up in HWmonitor.
I tried the latest version of FakeSMC, no success.
Tried removing all Fake sensors, no success.
Updated most kexts to latest version, like WhateverGreen and Lilu, and no success.
Every time the machine didn't boot I came back to Clover and changed the injected Intel Graphics ID to be able to use the installation (as suggested in the main post). The Sensors and FakeSMC in /Extensions work when I do that, but the Graphics are low quality and not smooth as it was with the default Intel Graphics ID without FakeSMC in /Extensions
