No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

@toleda, back to layout 1 again. In all cases, the audio functioned. But in 2 and 3 there were missing parts...
Back in 1 and audio is OK and looks the same as my post #1588
Let me hear if you need more info/screenshots

Ok, this is layout 2. Difference: in "Input" there is no "line in"
Outstanding, thanks for making the time. All good news.
Layouts:
1 - 5/6 audio ports, native: 2 inputs, 1/3/4 outputs+front panel+SPDIF/Optical
2 - 3 audio ports, repurposed to 5.1: 0 inputs, 3 outputs+front panel+SPDIF/Optical
3 - 3 audio ports, native: 2 inputs, 1 output+front panel+SPDIF/Optical

Your motherboard has 6 audio jacks, use Layout 1
For motherboards with 3 audio jacks (2 inputs/pink and blue and 1 output/green) two choices:
2 - enables analog 5.1 surround by converting pink into orange and blue into black. With both inputs operating as outputs, the remaining input is front panel pink labeled as Internal Microphone. Frankly, I haven't been able to get sound when it says External Microphone.
3 - is the same as 1 except Line Outs (orange and black) do not exist and do not show. Regarding Inputs, when a mic is plugged into front panel pink, Line In appears.

Attach is a preview of AppleALC/kext_v1.3.5/requires latest Lilu.kext_v1.3.1
Install at your convenience, advise if anything is different from Post #1588-1590

Glad to be at any help.
@toleda, do you advise me to update to your version 1.3.5 or can I just stick to the special made 1.3.4?
Anyway thanks very much for your help!!!!
I will change focus now on two other problems with this build: not shutting down and not having dvi and hdmi (but dp is good).
I must say I didn't expect that much trouble with a "recommended board". Quote: "We recommend 300-series motherboards for their simple post-installation, supported audio codecs, and network controllers".

Did not get everything, remove config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/200_Series-X299_ Audio_Controller
Remove FakePCIID-Intel-HDMI-Audio.kext wherever it is
Removed AppleALC.kext, reinstall
Restart, reply with new files

Hey Toleda,

I promise I looked everywhere I could think of, couldn't find where the FakePCIID kext is installed. Looked in S/L/E, EFI folder, config file. In my Library folder there is no Extenstions folder. Don't know where else to look.

Re-installed AppleALC.kext using kext beast.

New files included.

Many thanks.

No such thing, files and patches only.

Which of the 3 steps is not detailed enough?

See High Sierra AppleHDA Audio

I still dont understand what you mean by files and patches only...So multibeast does not install audio kext into L/E or S/L/E? Or where do they store their files to make audio drivers work?

Which of the 3 steps is not detailed enough?
  1. cloverALC, remove:
    1. S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/layout1.zml.zlib, layout2.zml.zlib, layout3.zml.zlib, Platforms.zml.zlib
      • or install native AppleHDA.kext with a kext installer (see III. Tools/KextBeast)
    2. config.plist/.../KextsToPatch/AppleHDA (3x)
    3. EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.xx or other/realtekALC.kext
  2. MultiBeast 9/10, remove:
    1. S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/layout1.zml.zlib, layout2.zml.zlib, layout3.zml.zlib, Platforms.zml.zlib
      • or install native AppleHDA.kext with a kext installer (see III. Tools/KextBeast)
    2. config.plist/.../KextsToPatch/AppleHDA (3x)
    3. /L/E/realtekALC.kext
1 and 2 are basically the same thing between clover ALC and MultiBeast so I just have to remove EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.xx or other/realtekALC.kext and /L/E/realtekALC.kext?

Somehow the audio works again! I removed only cloverALC step and not multibeast. There is still realtekALC.kext in my L/E so that means the multibeast method worked?

Would there be any way to get ALC299 support in the future? There is very little on this codec, and nothing seems to work for me.

My laptop is an Acer Helios 500
Audio layout:
Speakers
Line-out (3.5mm headphones)
Line-in (3.5mm mic input)
Built in mic

Thanks for all the work yoU have done on applealc!
Here is my linux codec dump

In my Library folder there is no Extenstions folder
Wrong Library directory, try the same directory System resides (Library is hidden)
Re-installed AppleALC.kext using kext beast.
AppleALC.kext did not load
Lilu.kext must be in same directory as AppleALC.kext
Remove EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/Lilu.kext
Download latest Lilu.kext and install with KextBeast (suggest both at the same time, always)
Restart, reply with new files.
