Can you tell what exactly model was used? And you need to install some software on your hackintosh?

Do you know list of compatible models? I have only this in nearest shop with chip Fresco Logic FL2000 https://www.mltrade.ru/catalog/adap...play-adapter-Telecom-TA700_447150-076068.html

Model I use is ORICO DU3D-BK USB 3.0 to DVI. Any display adapter based on DisplayLink chip should work. Just make sure that you get regular USB adapter and not Thunderbolt 3 version. Even though Thunderbolt 3 uses USB C connector, it is a completely different protocol which Y520/Y720 does not support. You can find macOS drivers for all DisplayLink devices here:

https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos

Unfortunately, FL2000 won't work because there are no macOS drivers for that chip. I am sure of it because I also have FL2000 USB to HDMI adapter and it only works with Windows.

This is my first hackintosh.
Running a Y720 on High Sierra as I'm afraid Mojave might have issues at this initial phase.
There are a few broken functionalities though. Just listing them here. Please tell me if any of these have fixes?

  1. Keyboard backlight doesn't work unless enabled from windows. Backlight shortcut (Fn + Space) also doesn't respond.
  2. Num Lock works only if I activate the button during Clover Boot. Any way to automatically set Num Lock to active on boot?
  3. The only special keys that work are: Volume Up, Down, Mute, Brightness Up, Down. Any way to make the other keys like Airplane Mode, Refresh, Mute Mic, Disable Camera, Lock Device work?
  4. Any way to make the atheros qcnfa435 Wifi to work? I'm currently using LAN.
  5. Last but not the least. Any way to make the Y720 subwoofer work? The sound is very shallow when compared to what I got on Windows.
Thanks

No. You need to replace the card with a compatible one, check here for compatible cards

Everything was going good until I ran this line of command. Installing Sierra 10.12.6 on my Legion y720

cd ~/Projects/legion.git
./Y720.sh --download-requirements
./Y720.sh --install-downloads

It was loading and then the screen went black and now I get this block icon when I try to boot into mac. [see attached photo]

@RehabMan Here is a video of what happens [Skip to the end if you want] . I loaded all the kexts that we used on the usb installer onto the SSD EFI mount. What am I doing wrong? I've tried running that script twice now and its bricked the install every time. Was I supposed to put all your kexts on the SSD EFI clover? I just don't get why I cant get further into this install.

This guide is for MacOS Mojave 10.14.x
Kexts and patches used in this guide may not work for an older version.

I just thought that everything applied because in the start of the thread he says it works for mojave, sierra, high sierra, etc.. without stating otherwise.

I didn't install mojave initially because I thought there was a compatibility issue with my install drive but I think I resolved it. will let you know how everything goes.

So I tried a Mojave install and the same exact thing happened. I'm completely stumped now.

I am going to guess that you installed Clover to the boot drive.

I did install it to the boot drive.
I'm not sure how to "run script before kernel panic"
and so I wont give you guys on this thread a headache, I sent the computer to a hackintosh expert on ebay who was willing to do it for me.

But by any means, if you have any input or direction, I'd be happy to hear it for my own education. I wish I could've got it going but I have jobs to do and can't sit and hack all day especially at my slow pace.

Thank you so much for your response, I really appreciate it!!
