Hi

I have installed OS X El Capitan on a laptop´s friend, everything working perfectly, despite a little thing. The touchpad is not working, the controller is Asus Smart Touch, looking deeply it is Elan.

On the installation the kext I used is VoodooPs2Controller.kext, the keyboard works, however, the trackpad does not work.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Maybe the connector type is note PS2. It could be I2C. You should look under Windows Device Manager for more infos.
When your connector type is I2C, you should use another kext instead of VoodooPS2Controller, maybe VoodooI2C.
You can find it here: https://github.com/alexandred/VoodooI2C

If you have a PS2 ELAN trackpad, you should search for ELAN PS2 drivers.
As mentioned by @HorchaudiBMW, it is possible you have I2C trackpad, which requires different drivers yet.
Hackintosh requires you know your hardware, such that you can choose appropriate kexts.

Ok, conector is I2C (screenshots under), but VoodooI2C also enbles keyboard, if not, is compatible with VoodooPS2? Screenshot 2.PNG Screenshot.PNG

Got it, just installed VoodooI2C and patched DSDT.

Thanks RehabMan and HorchaudiBMW

Hi, I know it's been a long time but can you specify which version have you used? and which patches applied?
I have a similar laptop and got everything working perfectly expect for the touchpad. I can use the very first version of VoodooI2C with VoodooHID without even patching, but it's laggy although gestures and everything is working (it's detected as a trackpad). When I use any newer version, the touchpad is detected as a mouse and the cursor cant keep still and no gestures available. Even after dsdt patching, nothing changes.

Did you find the solution to your problem? I have the Asus Q304UAK version and I managed to get almost everything working except for sound and trackpad. Which patch did you apply in order to get this going? I applied the proper fixes to get my alc to show with dpcimanager but nothing loads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Asus UX501VW and I am having the same issue with the touchpad using VoodooI2C and VoodooHID. The touchpad is detected in System Preferences/Trackpad and works like a mouse (no gesture) and when I use it the cursor keeps moving until I tap the touchpad. Have you find a solution to your problem? And is so what was it?

Any help would be appreciated.
