Seems to be working in my case
see screenshot ...
I was running Geekbench for a bit and then cancelled it ... you can see the drop in power and frequency

native power management should only require
config.plist/ACPI/SSDT/Generate/PluginType=true (must use recent build of Clover)

Hello,

Thank you for your guide.
I am running a somewhat similar setup (4790k, maximus vii hero, 2x8gb, rx570)

I am wondering mostly about the need for usbinjectall; from what the pictures show, it looks like on the board itself, the usb ports are:

hs01/02/ssp1/2 (right side mounted usb3 header)
hs05/06 (bottom of board usb2)
hs07/08 (bottom of board usb2)
hs11 (rog connector)

Wondering why the usb3 connector counts for 4; is it not a single connector = usb2+3 = 2? Same for the 05/06 07/08, single connector = 2?

Also wondering if you are running any specific dsdt, or just what you have in your guide or what multibeast has done.

Thanks

USB injectall is needed for fully functional USB3-2 ports
Building a custom SSDT with the 15 port limit as per my other guide
avoids USB ports from non functioning when there is an OS ugrade - where otherwise you need to wait for an updated port limit patch for that OS version.
there also seem to be potential issues when leaving port limit patch and not making a custom SSDT. (see Rehabman - USB inject all guide)

from what the pictures show, it looks like on the board itself, the usb ports are:

hs01/02/ssp1/2 (right side mounted usb3 header)
hs05/06 (bottom of board usb2)

hs11 (rog connector)

The red mid board connector on the Maximus VII is a 2 port USB3 connector - in my case I have a NZXT H440 case and I can connect the supplied cable onto the mid board connector and have 2 x USB 3 connectors at the top of my case. So that is why there are 4 ports on that connector.

Also wondering if you are running any specific dsdt, or just what you have in your guide or what multibeast has done.
Thanks

I do not use multibeast anymore - no specific DSDT .

just install the right kexts to L/E (I only have 5 - Lilu - Whatevergreen - Codeccommander -Apple ALC - USBinjectall - and you should prob install fakesmc into L/E)
rebuild cache

Have you tried to make a clean install for the Mojave update, if not do you think your guide will be the same for the Mojave clean installation? Thank you and I love your guide for high sierra update!

Thanks!

No not good for Mojave. no CUDA Nvidia drivers for Mojave and not likely that there will ever be. So have to stay on high Sierra .
So I will probably move to AMD graphics card at some stage.

Hey, love ur guide simple enough and quite understandable... One question ... What did u do with CPU powerManagemnt ?

4790k only needs plugin type 1 which can be set in clover and you'll have power management.

thanks.. yes as @blazinsmokey said only need plugin type 1 and a SMbios model
- config.plist/ACPI/SSDT/Generate/PluginType=true (YES) (must use recent build of Clover)
- use Haswell SMBIOS (or later)
