[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Everything just arrived. Including that 32gig Samsung USB3.1 thumbdrive. I will start on this later today and post results to this thread. THANK YOU Tonymacx86 and CaseySJ!
Awesome! Now we wait for you to be “that guy!”

Well, I updated the Bios to 05 there is a 6A available but I picked 05. I am running into issues during the initial boot from the flash drive. Here are a couple screenshots.

I double checked the config.plist on the EFI partition of the USB drive. Do I need both USB kexts if I am going straight to 10.14.2? I'm booting to an LG 4K display connected via HDMI to the 580 card. That part is working great. Im double checking BIOS settings now and trying again. We will get this!

Search for "still waiting for root device".

Correct.

@DJ4MC Have you applied the config.plist modifications after UniBeast is done? Namely, the SAT0 to SATA patch and the two USB Port Limit patches for Mojave. With these port limit patches we do not need USBInjectAll at this first stage. But to be extra safe you may insert your USB flash disk in HS09 or HS10.

We cannot use the config.plist that is generated by UniBeast until we make modifications shown in the build guide.

I booted from the HS09 port (keyboard is in HS10) and all is good. I formated the internal SSD per the guide and a proceeding! (And yes, I updated the config.plist AFTER Unibeast lol!)
I am really interested to know the sequence of events so I can fix any problems in the guide. Therefore:

When the error “waiting for root device” occurred, were you using the stock config.plist generated by UniBeast? And after modifying config.plist, it started working?

Or simply moving USB drive from USB 3.x port to USB 2.0 port was the solution? If so, then the port limit patch may not be correct.

I modified the config.plist prior to any boot attempts. It failed until I went to a USB2.0 port where it fully booted into the installer screen. Now I should be at the 2nd part of the install process but I keep "looping" where is reboots and does not complete the install

If your config.plist has the SAT0 to SATA patch, then next thing would be to replace AptioMemoryFix-drv with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 (and slide=0) in the driversUEFI64 folder and boot the USB disk again to continue stage 2.
