...or how I learned to stop worrying and eat asbestos.

Installing macOS Mojave on an Alienware 15R3 machine. We used this guide as a starting point, since the machines are somewhat similar enough. Installation went fine, with no issues, but after completion, the install won't start up, getting stuck on

IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

The system never proceeded past this point. I have attached the Clover folder of the install USB we used. The installation medium itself was made on a MacBook with an official download of Mojave.

Any help will be appreciated.

how long do you wait, before you consider the boot to be failed?
because in general, this is the last entry before macos actually turns into the graphic screen and can take quite some time, especially if youre booting/installing from an usb stick.

We’ve waited overnight for it to boot. It seemed to get to setup though, as the voiceover tutorial did play, but the verbose boot didn’t go away.

ok, then maybe
try to set an invalid platform id in the clover boot screen (options/graphics/inject intel[check the box]/platform id) 0x12345678
if this doesn´t help at least booting, you have to wait until rehabman (or a similar genius) is back on da track.

//edit:
some other users got their problems solved by adding the nvramfix. maybe worth giving it a try.
