Hello everyone,
First thanks to the site operator and forums for some great information. I've built several PCs for gaming but my college age daughter wanted something for 4K video editing and I decided to see if I could find a build that worked well for that function, but in a smaller form factor. Hence I started looking at mATX cases and from advice in the buyer's guide I am focused on AMDs GPUs with Mojave. Is that still an accurate statement? The budget is sub 1500 and right now here is the parts list I have assembled.

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z370M-DS3H (updated)
CPU - Core i7-8700K
CPU Cooler - Thermaltake Slim X3 CLP0534 80mm CPU Cooler
GPU - SAPPHIRE Radeon RX Vega 64 (updated)
SSD - Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVME SSD
RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (32GB)
PSU - Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series SSR-750FX 750W (updated)
Wifi - TP-Link Archer T9E 802.11AC AC1900 (updated)
Case (already owned) - MasterBox Q300L

The main question is whether the graphics card is appropriate for 4K editing. i am very much learning in this space. The second is if there is a different mobo or PSU since both are out of stock on newegg.com

I'll be adjusting the build I am sure as I learn more. Thanks again.

You can use the Gigaybyte Z370M motherboard. The Vega cards are better for 4K editing but cost more than the RX580. Start out with the 580 first and see how it works. It may be good enough.

You could upgrade to this Seasonic PSU for $60 after rebate right now. Should be more than enough power for a Vega 64 card.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely change the build to use the Vega 64. That will mean I need more power and I looked at the recommended power supplies above. They all say ATX on the specs. I have only built ATX cases, so does that PSU desingation mean that either the 650W or 750W fit in the mATX case?

Both ATX and mATX cases can use standard ATX power supplies. Even some mini-ITX cases can fit ATX power supplies in them. The Wattage rating is irrelevant.
