Hi all,

Hope y'all having a great holiday.
I've decided to upgrade my system to the MSI Z390 with an i9 9900K and 32 GB (2X 16) 3000Mhz RAM. with my existing GTX 1070. Target drive is a Samsung 960 EVO NVME M.2 SSD.
I've previously had a stable rig for about 3 years and never had any major problems.

This time around, I'm having immense trouble finishing the installer on High Sierra 10.13.6.
Takes about 2 boots to make the boot work, I was lucky to get a full install (but not stable, keeps crashing) but then realized its on APFS so I decided to re-do it in HFS+. Now im having trouble even getting through the first part of the installation before the 1st reboot. Then I plan to follow the "High Sierra Guide" to set APFS conversion to NO.

I am using the IGPU to install right now, my 1070 is off the rig.
BIOS with XMP to get my RAM to be properly 3000MHZ (BIOS default to 2166)
Using Lilu.kext and whatevergreen.kext in my clover (USB) also have OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi, emuVariableUefi-64 and NvmexpressDxe-64 in my Clover folder... SMBIOS at iMac 18,3. Not sure what else I would need or if anyone recommend any certain crucial BIOS settings or clover/kext setup to get it running. Any help would be appreciated!

FakeSMCKext? Clover/Kexts/other.

Bios settings CFG disabled in CPU overclock section.
Serial ports disabled (sometimes under SuperIO configuration).
Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes to FakeSMCKext, other Kexts I have are:
AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext
IntelMausiEthernet.kext
Lilu.kext
RealtekRTL8111.kext
WhateverGreen.kext
XHCI-unsupported.kext

And good call on the Super IO, I will try to disable that and see! Thanks!

Tried disabling the Super IO, still the same, the first installer procedure would reach the 2 minutes remaining mark, and suddenly crashes, flashing a very quick Verbose image (see attached) and then reboot. and the installation is not complete.

Do you have IGPU settings correct?
Inject Intel, ig platform 0x59120000?

I believe my BIOS settings For IGPU is correct:
-Initiate Graphic Adapter = [IGD]
-Integrated Graphics Share Memory [64MB] (MAX on this BIOS)

I already had Inject Intel, I tried adding 0x59120000, but still the same error. Here's another error the HS 10.13.6 installer give, same again at the 2 minutes remaining mark.

Thank you again for your help!

Woot woot! after hours of battling, tinkering on the Clover.plist and allowing APFS as my new system, its up and running!

In regards to the 2 minutes remaining mark on the first installer, it shuts down, but then I just let Clover boot into the SSD and continue the 2nd part of the install (leaving HS to convert to APFS) and it was fine.

I also realize this combo is rather new, if anyone have any questions, feel free to comment and continue the conversation.

Can you tell me what Bios settings and any boot arguments you used to get your system working? I feel like I've tried everything and I can't get the system to install with High Sierra.

I'm trying to set up a z390 m Gaming motherboard with a i9 9900k cpu. Using the iGPU for the time being, but I have a 1070 Ti I'll swap in once I get it running.

Hey buddy, yeah, here are bunch of pics of my BIOS setting after it was able to post. my rig is still running fine for most daily use, only noticing some total freeze very occasionally:

Thank you! That helped. High Sierra is finally installing now.

That monitor looks slick. I'm hoping to get one soon and replace my three 8 year old Asus monitors.
