No idea WTH is going on now. I made a Mojave installer USB stick (8 GB) and I get "Error Loading Operating System" in post. Nothing is plugged in except the USB stick and the new 1 TB SSD.

Is your SSD plugged in internally or via USB? USB will not work for the installation of 10.14.

It's on the SATA bus. I think I discovered the problem - it was MBR instead of GUID partition table. Rebuilding the installer now.

Ugh. This is terrible. I did a clean install, got BT and WiFi working, then did Migration Assistant to move my applications over to the new Mojave SSD. Now, when I reboot, the progress bar gets about halfway then the screen goes black and appears to be off. Same in safe mode, too. Verbose goes by too fast for me to see what the heck is going on.

I've had the same problem once or twice. But it has worked once, luckily.

@AppleiPad556: You are my man! After endless tests I got my new system running on Mojave 10.14.1 with your EFI!

Don't know exactly what went wrong before but
  • first I received a lot frozen bootscreens not starting Mojave at all
  • then I managed to get the system working but then I encountered graphic glitches due to missing graphic acceleration (only 7MB of graphic ram)
In the end I got graphic acceleration working with you EFI.

Not working
  • Audio: No Audio device is available, is yours working?
  • Bluetooth: Just learned BT only works with some BT Dongle, do you use BT?
Note
For some test I updated to Whatsevergreen 1.2.5. and again boots screen will freeze. With 1.2.4, everything works fine.

I think 0x3E920000 is meant for mobile computers (i.e. laptops). One connector is listed as LVDS.

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-intel-framebuffer-patching-using-whatevergreen.256490/

I've been using 3E9B0007 (three DP connectors) for a while and it seems to work fine. Not sure what the benefits are though, as everything was working fine with Whatevergreen installed even before patching.

One thing I have not been able to resolve is getting a Hack to recognize monitors that weren't present at boot. Has any of you had more luck in this respect?
Hey,
Thanks for letting me know.
I'm a bit confused, however: in Clover there's a section under Graphics for an ig-platform-id, yet at the same time we can patch the ig-platform-id framebuffer through Devices/Properties. Is there a difference between the two, and which one should I use? Are you using 3E9B0007 under ig-platform-id or under the framebuffer?

Hey!
Great to know it's working.

I haven't updated WhateverGreen to 1.2.5, with your warning I may get a backup ready before trying the new version.

Audio: Hm, odd. A few people have said that the audio doesn't work using my EFI (odd thing is my audio works). I remember trying to get audio to work using my EFI, however for some apparent reason it just wouldn't work. I ended up doing a clean install. If you don't have anything too important I suggest maybe wiping the drive and clean installing, perhaps older residue from previous EFI folders will get erased.

Bluetooth: I don't think you have to have a dongle, at least I'm not using one. If you look at OP's first post, Erik used a Broadcom BCM94352Z (which is what I'm using). He swapped out the Intel Wifi chip (which is actually much easier to remove than expected) with the Broadcom chip. You then need a few kexts (I followed these instructions: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/broadcom-wifi-bluetooth-guide.242423/) and it should work.

AND you have to increase the port limit. The Broadcom WiFi/BT needs USB for the bluetooth module.
