happy holidays to everybody :D I tried today to connect my uad octo satellite using tb3 tb2 adapter and It work like a real Mac... I don't have to do anything and hotplug work perfect ... I am using caseysj config ... now I migrated from an ssd to a m2 970 evo drive and it work perfectly ... I never had any shut down in these days ... the only problem now is that I have to plug and unplug hdmi cable from rx580 to see something after booting .... what is the best way to migrate files from my real Mac mini to this hackintosh ? thank you to all

I used Migration Assistant (in the Applications --> Utilities folder) to move applications and home directory from the old Mac. To speed up the process, I removed the SSD from the old Mac and installed it on the new computer in order to avoid a network-based transfer.

I would strongly suggest backing up the new Mac right now. If anything goes wrong after Migration Assistant, you will thank yourself for having a full backup.

Ok, i think i have managed to get at least something:
Installed the two today released Versions of Lilu and Whatevergreen.
In Clover i went for fake ID 0x3E928086.
First of all, after restart i was just suprised to get an image but it was flickering like hell. It looked for me, that somehow the sizeing of the screen is causing the problems and so i changed my profile from iMac 18,3 to 18,1 restarted again and it worked.

So I have no clue if this (see attached png) now is really accelerated video but at least i got all these transparency effects and as well a way more smooth scrolling (like i know it from my macbook).

Greets
Are you using HDMI cable ?
I keep getting black screen with this info , (using hdmi port )

I made a couple of changes to your config.plist to inject the iGPU device ID in a different way.

According to Toby above, the latest versions of Lilu and WhateverGreen may provide better support for the 9th Gen iGPU. Below are links to today's releases of Lilu, WhateverGreen, and AppleALC. It would be a good idea to upgrade to these versions.

https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/releases
https://github.com/acidanthera/Lilu/releases
https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleALC/releases

These changes may not fix the boot problem, but it's good to try anyway.

To diagnose the boot problem, what files are located in your /Library/Extensions folder and in EFI/CLOVER/driversUEFI64 on the Mojave disk? Screenshots would be good enough. Also, please download and run Kext Utility. Just running this utility will fix file permissions and rebuild kext caches -- keep an eye on its status window until it says "Done".

Hi @CaseySJ ,

I tried all of the above and the machine is still hanging on the same boot screen when I enable iGPU in BIOS.

I've attached the requested screenshots. Thank you!

Because it’s been a few days since our last exchange, I would like to try this quickly:

Can you please enable IGPU in BIOS, Save and Exit, then shutdown the system and remove power cable for 10 seconds.

A shutdown still keeps power flowing to the motherboard, so removing power cable causes a complete reset.

After 10 seconds, plug power in and reboot. If the problem is still present, please compress and upload the entire EFI folder from your Mojave internal disk, but blank out the Serial Number and Board Serial Number from config.plist.

While using "AptioMemoryFix-64.efi" I had issues with respect to sleep, restart and shutdown. Using "OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000" fixed those issues.

I tried the power cable suggestion and it still hangs at the same boot screen. Luckily JPEG quicklook and preview usage isn't crucial to my everyday operations so it's not a huge deal that it's not working. It's just more of an annoyance and I like trying to problem solve!

Edit: I just tried to change my system definition to Mac Mini 8,1 like yours. No difference.

I've attached my EFI folder.

I've modified your EFI. Please copy your Serial Number and Board Serial Number back into the SMBIOS section, then move the existing EFI folder to a safe location, and replace it with the attached version. Let's see what happens now with iGPU enabled.

If this does not work, I'll upload another version with a different set of FakeSMC kexts.

So strange, still no dice. I've reverted back to my original EFI folder. Which FakeSMC kext did you want me to try? I appreciate all your effort to work this problem out @CaseySJ .

Attached is a modified full EFI folder with the new FakeSMC. Serial Number and Board Serial Number must again be restored in SMBIOS.

I am beginning to think the problem might lie in BIOS settings. Can you post screenshots of first page of:
  • M.I.T.
  • BIOS
  • Peripherals
  • Peripherals --> Thunderbolt Configuration
  • Peripherals --> USB Configuration
  • Chipset
  • Power
