Hello everyone,

I have trouble with booting into MacOS Mojave after I finish install as in the basics installation guide. I ran multibeast with recommended option. I also see on my desktop an icon (look like disk) named EFI. So I restarted and run bios, pressing F8 on asus board and choose back to my main M.2. From here I keep running in a loop like the pictures. I mark picture in 1-2-3 so you guys can help me out. It starts normal (pic 1) then lunch clover (pic 2) and automatically boot from Mojave (at pic3, I can choose by pressing arrow keys, but even if I choose Boot from Mojave, pc still restarts back to pic 1), however pc restarts to pic 1 instead of booting into desktop.

I instal MacOS Mojave on Z370 Prime A, i7-8700 and 32Gb RAM, currently on integrated HD630. I will add vega 56 later after I could get into desktop.

Much thank you!!!!!!

When Clover starts (Pic 3) press Spacebar and enable the Verbose flag. Then select the Mojave boot volume and see what error message appears. You may need to take video with your smartphone if computer suddenly reboots.

Hello,

Thank you for your quick response. I was able bot boot into desktop now. However I ran into the issue that screen is shuttering and flashing (screen shows what was on previous then back to normal)

I am still on HD 630 not yet set up card vega 56 yet.

Thank you.

  • After making sure the Video (Digital=HDMI/DVI/DP) cable is firmly and securely connected at both ends (Monitors' Graphics port and Graphics Card's Port) and similarly the Power cable from the Monitor is securely plugged in at both ends, check if the problem is resolved.
  • If the problem persists,
    • check and upload the screen shots of the "About This Mac"-> Overview " and "System Report...>Hardware> Graphics and Display" Screens.
    • Upload Screen shots of CLOVER/kexst/Other, config.plist_ACPI, config.plist_Devices and config.plist_Graphics

Hello.
Here is the pictures. Thank you for your helping.

Quick note: When I get my 1080ti plugged in and connect monitor by dvi-d, the screen acts normal with no shuttering. However when 1080ti is plugged, the graphics showed in “ABOUT THIS MAC”, “OVERVIEW” is Intel UHD630 with 7MB (not like in the picture I included)

Your IGPU seems to be properly configured. I don’t however recognize the Clover Configurator (CC) screens — which version of CC are you using?

If Kexts in the CLOVER/Kexts/other folder were installed by MultiBeast 11.0.1 then they should be current versions, but not necessarily the newest. But I wouldn’t worry about that right now.

If you can compress and upload your EFI folder (blank out serial number in SMBIOS) either cmn699 or I could take a closer look.

Finally, I think nearly everyone here would agree that you should not connect your Nvidia graphics card until the installation is complete. So your monitor should be connected to a video port on your motherboard. All setup and port installation work should be done without the Nvidia card.

  • There is no config.plist_Graphics screen capture uploaded, only images of ACPI and Devices SECTIONS are uploaded.
  • ACPI _Sections seem OK as is the /CLOVER/kexts/Other (assuming all kexts are the latest released)
  • The lack of full resolution as it should be seen in your uploaded image of "AboutThisMac_Overview-Graphics Intel UHD Graphics 630:1536 MB is because of lack of proper editing of CLOVER-config.plist _Devices and possibly the missing CLOVER-config.plist_Graphics that is not uploaded to check.
  • During the next reboot when you reach Clover Boot Manager(CBM) screen, try the following:
    • Scroll down to Options >Boot Args : and edit as shown in uploaded image after taking pictures of current set values before editing
    • Scroll Down to Graphics Injector-> screen edit as shown in uploaded image after taking photo of current default values.
    • Return to CBM and boot Mojave System Disk to Login -> Mojave Desktop.
    • Check the "AboutThisMac_Overview-Graphics Intel UHD Graphics 630: See image
    • If now it is 1536 MB,
    • Edit & Save config.plist as shown in the uploaded images

Hello,

Thank you for your help. I reinstall with MacOS High Sierra and copy the file from Stork build. Modify some options in Clover Config for Nvidia card. Everything works perfectly now.

Many thanks to you all and happy holidays!!!!

PS: I also marked this thread SOLVED.
