Hello, I am brand new to not only this subreddit, but also the Hackintosh community. I just built my first PC tower, and always dreamed of having both Windows and MacOS on the computer at the same time... I technically did a Hackintosh with an old laptop I had, but it was a lot more simple than this process and I uninstalled it immediately afterwards because it didnt support the mobile graphics card.

This is the build I am working with:
CPU: Intel i7-8700K
GPU: AMD XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition
MOBO: Asus Prime Z390-A
RAM: G.Skillz Ripjaws V (16gb DDR4 3600)
Storage: 2 x 512gb Samsung 970 Pro M.2 NVMe SSD, 4TB Western Digital Black Performance
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G3 650W Modular Power Supply (80 Plus Gold)
Cooling: Corsair H115i Pro

I have tried numerous tutorials, decided to just try the Vanilla installation. It began installation, but restarted before finishing the progress bar with 2 minutes remaining (standard procedure from what I've seen in another video tutorial). After that I have not been able to load from the SSD to complete the installation. I'm wondering if maybe it isn't allowing me to boot from this type of SSD because of a setting I missed?

I found a driver in Clover that I needed to enable the NVMe, but still getting the same issue, plus I have this slight flicker in my monitor/TV while it's black until it goes to "no signal"... 45 minutes later the screen turned back, but I noticed occasional flickering .. Any other drivers I should consider adding through Clover?

Same issue here after 2 minutes it restarts and it doesn't copy boot to M2. NVMe. I use the Flash to boot into HFS disk, and continue the installation process but again before it finishes it restarts. There's a quick error log shown but I suspect that the problem is M2 already so I'm gonna move my windows image into M2 and use my SATA SSD to do this. Also it says after the installation continuation that the disk size is too small. So albeit as it is, I'm just gonna move to regular SSD.

  • I have read several reports of XFX Radeon RX XXX Cards having problems in Hackintosh. Most of the Other Brands don't have this issue. I have NOT tested any XFX cards to affirm or contradict that opinion.
  • Make a Google search and then take a decision about whether to go on trying or switching to another brand or trying with On-board Intel HD 630 from your i7-8700K.
  • Another couple of issues with your selected MoBo:
    • You may already know its Intel WiFi is NOT supported in macOSMojave or HS.
    • 390 Series of Mother Boards seem to require OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi NOT AptioMemoryFix-64.efi or other AptioFix ...drivers.
      • Search this fact before spending too much time struggling to reach Language and Region Screen >---- Apple Account ......>Desktop
