Ok things are going south badly. Do you have a fool proof way to know if NVRAM is working? Those terminal commands are inconclusive.

You can try changing the computer name and see if it sticks after a reboot. That's stored in NVRAM.

@pastrychef Just a quick note to let you know that messaging works. Last issue to work out is mail and 2 or 3 aesthetic issues.

Thank you very much for all your help, you have incredible patience.

Edit: Mail works now. Don't know what I did but was in preference panel, exited, started mail and poof, it worked. Maybe it toggled iCloud or something.

You need to set up serial, board serial, and UUID for iCloud to work. I believe you need iCloud for Mail and Messages to work.

Whatever I did for messaging seemed to work for iCloud. Everything works now, just need to test USB ports, on board Ethernet, and audio.

Gonna try that soon.

Is there any other BT/WiFi card that'd fit the module that you know of? With a tall card, the I/O shield can't be mounted.

I know I am late to the party but the Dell DW1560 is the exact same size as the included Intel card and fits in the IO shield. It also works perfectly, albeit at the older standard's speed.

Here is a pic of Intel card next to the Dell DW1560:

Do I still need to do this or does the latest clover fix it?
as long as you use macOS above 10.11, you have to use this method to fix USB, or use FBpacher.

So I am at what I hope to be the last stage, Installing Windows 10. Unfortunately it fails. I was wondering if someone can look at post#5 and give me some tips.

Thanks!

Solved: Delete partition while in windows setup.
