Pretty interesting. Seems you‘re the only one who has sleep/shutdown working with only aptiomemoryfix. So i guess without emuvariable? Thanks will closely check your efi...

Actually, my kexts are
AppleALC.kext (special scripted)
FakeSMC_ACPISensors.kext
FakeSMC_CPUSensors.kext
FakeSMC_GPUSensors.kext
FakeSMC_LPCSensors.kext
FakeSMC_SMMSensors.kext
FakeSMC.kext
IntelMausiEthernet.kext
Lilu.kext
USBInjectAll.kext
WhateverGreen.kext

and drivers64UEFI
ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi
EmuVariableUefi-64.efi
FSInject-64.efi
HFSPlus-64.efi
NTFS-64.efi
OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi

I moved away from virtualsmc kext and aptiomemoryfix toward the older solutions that actually work - fakesmc.kext and osxaptiofix-free2000.efi with EMUvariableUefi-64.efi

IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET HS TO SLEEP/WAKE AND SHUT DOWN WITH NVIDIA FOR THIS BUILD. I'VE TRIED THE OTHERS WITH VARIATIONS BETWEEN THEM. THE ABOVE LIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT WORK. Add in darkwake=8 and my whole system goes dark at sleep - even my USB top panel led rings. It's AWESOME.

@DenOfLore I should have mentioned that I'm using Mojave with an RX 580. So I'm guessing that if you're not using HS and Nvidia that using a newer solution like aptiomemoryfix is a better option?

Thanks for sharing @MESwan! I got the same configuration for USB ports when using @corporatenewt 's USB mapper.

Since you're on the same motherboard would you mind sharing your SSDT files (SSDT-EC.aml, SSDT-UIAC.aml, SSDT-USBx.aml)? That would be greatly appreciated!

Also did you enter exclusions as a custom flag? Did you just exclude the unused ports?

Any other USB3 tips? Essential kexts?

Thanks!

+1

Attached. :)

I simply excluded unused ports.

Or possibly your efi folder minus your config.plist.

Since we all use the same board it should be pretty much the same correct? For getting the usb to work. If your map works with the same board as I have then your map files should enable mine... Also have to put string in plist also if not mistaken..

Perhaps someone will get the usb ports to woriking....

I'm using a Vega 64 and can't get Mojave to boot with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi and EmuVariableUefi-64.efi. AptioMemoryFix works flawlessly for me including sleep / reboot / shutdown.

Did you check to see if the kext was still in /L/E/ folder? Or did you move it there? If its still in your Clover EFI try moving it to /L/E/ using KextBeast.

@derJan I noticed you mentioned that you got iMessages up and running and are using only AptioMemoryFix. Is iMessage still working for you at this point, now that it's been a little while?

Yes, iMessage, Apple Music, App Store, iCloud Photos etc. still work for me even without persistent NVRAM.

Great, thanks for the info, that's pretty encouraging. If you don't mind me asking - do you have your EFI or a listing of the drivers/kexts/clover settings that you used for your build? Contemplating trying a Z390 system out with the same board, but the diversity of settings that people use in terms of things like memory fixes is something I'm trying to work through. Having iMessage working is priority, so thanks for confirming it's working for you!
