[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Hey guys, I need a helping hand creating the USB installer so that I can reach the installer screen (always reboots with End random seed and some extra messages which are to quick to read in verbose and debug doesn't seem to hold/work there). I was trying to follow to RehabMan's guide to the letter which worked some year ago nicely for 10.12.6. But I can't pull it off for 10.13.6. God knows why.
This is where I come from:
- Bios settings as recommended and pgraphics preallocation set
- used terminal to create partitions on usb thumbdrive
- Used his guide for USB clover installer: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/
- I tried Rehabman's latest clover build from here: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/clover/downloads/ (2018-10-10). But the standard clover settings for UEFI drivers doesn't come any close to his UEFI drivers screenshot. I quote: "the defaults for Drivers64UEFI are recommended" - that doesn't come even close to his screenshot: drivers64uefi-png.353014
- As these recommended settings (HFSPlus.efi was added manually of course) failed me to reproduce the given screenshot, I added the missing files from here: https://github.com/athlonreg/Clover_Build/tree/master/drivers64UEFI to complete the screenshot recommendations
- kexts added manually as per recommendation (screenshot)
- I also gave it a try to turn off the patch of RehabMan's config.plist because quote: "If your laptop has DVMT-prealloc set as required (64MB or 128MB), you should disable or remove the 32MB patch. You will find such patches in config.plist/Devices/Properties/PciRoot(0)/Pci(0x02,0)." I used PlistEdit Pro for the job.

And yet... I can't make it to the installer screen. Reboot after reboot. I tried dropping tables, -x as clover option - nothing got me to the desired installer screen :banghead:
added note: sometimes I manage to read that my cpu might not be supported - but the text is too fast and I have never/ haven't swapped the cpu since 10.12.6.
I'm lost. Please help
Thank you so much

and I believe the renaming string for terminal in the USB installer creation guide for HIGH Sierra has a typo:
# rename
sudo diskutil rename "Install macOS Sierra" install_osx
I think it should read "macOS High Sierra"

Hello RehabMan I have a hp EliteBook 8470p 8GB DDR3 Intel HD4000 and 500GB HDD when I boot the uefi hackintosh high Sierra installer I get a weird graphical glitch at the apple logo boot I don’t understand what’s going on I’ll send a screen shot later to day plz help me thx.

Hi RehabMan,

First, thanks for all the work that you put into all of this and us. Really thank you.

second: problem files attached. hopefully ok this way. via the tool

Now my questions:

I am following this guide to the letter.

I have a Probook 4740s, I5-3210M Ivy bridge CPU, HM76 chipset, Intel HD4000 graphics (1600x900)

1. I guess I need the "Piker-Alpha / ssdtPRGen.sh", but would like to Confirm.

2. Also, do I need the "-w 3" in the "./ssdtPRGen.sh" command? or, how can I tell if I need it??

3. Also: how do I know if I need this:

"Note regarding XCPM on Ivy: For certain troublesome Ivy Bridge CPUs, you may need to use config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KernelXCPM=true. If you choose to use this option, you can delete ACPI/patched/SSDT.aml and set config.plist/ACPI/SSDT/Generate/PluginType=true."

4. Form previous post I understand that I need the "./install_acpi.sh install_4x40_hires" because of the 1600x900 display. Right?

Yes, I am a Dummy in this, learning a lot here and very great full for everbodys help and understanding.

kind regards.

Hmm, I see now that I am in the old "wrong" guide. moved the question to the new guide. sorry.

Hey guys,

I recently did an update from 10.13.4 to 10.13.6 on my Probook 4530s i7 2760qm 12GB (clover) and I have gained a few problems after doing the upgrade.

1) I have numerous graphical glitches and freezes, such as lines across the screen as I scroll and all. The worst is that the computer seems to freeze, but the mouse still moves (but doesn't click) and the only thing that can fix it is a hard reset. (had this on 10.13.4 as well, but once in a blue moon).

2.) my boot times after updating (from clover to login screen) have gone up significantly (about 2 min vs about 30 seconds previously).

3.) (just a small annoyance) my battery indicator doesn't switch to "on battery" after being unplugged; instead, it switches to "not charging, AC Power", however, when booted up with only battery power, it shows that it's on battery.

Please let me know what I can do to solve these issues. I know I am running AFPS, but aside from that, I updated my system just as the guide recommends. My problem reporting files have been attached below.

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

Hi Rehabman,
a happy and healthy 2019 to all of you!
I'm returning to the problem of getting to the installer screen on my aforementioned G2 450 Probook. As I cannot use the error reporting script for obvious reasons, I would be grateful if you could have a closer look at the screenshots I was trying to get as they are scrolling through very quickly. The second part includes the required EFI folder without themes and with clover doing its F2-F4 thingy in the acpi folder. A helping hand would be awesome!
the screenshots are in reverse order :banghead:
