Preview & Slow boot time

Hi guys

Since updating to Mojave the boot time has risen up from 10s to about a minute. I've tried everything and nothing seems to work.
Also the preview app will not open and hinders shutdown each time.
I've got a 8700k on a Asus Prime Z370-A, also i changed the GPU from Nvidia GTX 1070 to the RX 580 hoping to get much faster rendering. But since changing the card it seems that i've somehow disabled the internal GPU, although it is enabled in BIOS. And now the rendering times are even slower that before. Strangely enough cinebench and geekbench show that the card is working on full potential.
I would be very grateful for any help. I've uploaded the EFI folder.

For your Preview problem, there is a thread here specifically about this Mojave annoyance and there are several workarounds. However my preferred option is a kext written by @vulgo 's that cures it - here.

As your iGPU is already enabled in your BIOS, you can alter your config.plist to Inject Intel or otherwise. Change it from False to True (or vice-versa) and it should now show up in your System Report.

Sorry I don't know what's causing the slow boot. If it does eventually boot okay, then it sounds as though the system is "waiting" for some hardware to initialise. Then it either does or it times-out and carries on etc. You could check System Report to see if everything is present and correct: Ethernet/Wireless/Bluetooth etc. ( The experts will tell you to boot in Verbose mode ( -v ) but it can be difficult to interpret some times.)

Remove from /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/

• AppleALC.kext.dSYM
• HWMonitor.app (move to Applications folder)
• IntelGraphicsFixup.kext (superseded by WhateverGreen.kext)
• IntelGraphicsFixup.kext.dSYM
• Lilu.kext.dSYM
• WhateverGreen.kext.dSYM

Thanks for your thorough comment, the jpeg preview issue has been solved. I see both GPU's in system report, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. can i make a log when the system boots, so i can later upload it and see what's wrong? thaank you!!

Hi.

Hmmm. I'm not 100% sure about a log. A lot of people take a screen-grab while the system freezes in Verbose mode to indicate where the problem occurred. If the PC crashes there is definitely a crash-log in /Library/Logs/CrashReporter & DiagnosticReports but if it boots ok (eventually) I am not sure a log is produced. System Report just shows under the "Diagnostics" tab - "Passed" etc. Maybe someone else knows more...
