Create an SSDT and breaking USB is a thing of the past. Why are so many people not bothering with a simple fix that continues to work, with no additional input from the user, from update to update, to overcome USB 3 problems?

Maybe because it's NOT simple. Looks like a process for advanced users with plenty of time on their hands. Maybe someone could break it down into a more usable step-by-step guide.

Totally agree! Rehabman guides are extremely hard to understand but I still managed to create ssdt for my Z370N after weeks of struggle that's how it is

You are definitely correct ! I've read all the guides by Rehabman concerning this solution, and I must admit I feel really intimidated. Even if the guides are very thorough, their depth is kind of blocking me ! I've been wondering for a long time now if the SSDT (regarding these USB problems only) for a specific motherboard would be valid for any copies of the said motherboard ? For example if someone out there puts out a SSDT for a GA-H110N, will everyone having a GA-H110N be able to use this specific SSDT ? Or does it have to be 100% taylor made ?

I did just that. I took a SSDT from another build for my motherboard and voila, it worked I think, there should be a repository of these SSDTs somewhere with some kind of visual guide on the various settings for each port so people can adjust the settings even when they are technically intimidated by the wonderful Rehabman guide...

Would be nice but I'm sure it will never happened, too much work and humans are normally lazy species.

A repository would be god sent, but I don't agree on saying people are lazy. It takes time and efforts to create this kind of things and not everyone can build these databases "just because". I think Rehabman is already extra helpful just by writing detailed, even though complex, guides.

However if anyone as a specific SSDT for the gigabyte H170N I'd happily take it If I manage to build a working one I'll make sure to upload it here.

For info I found this (asian language annotated) video that seems to go through the process... no idea if it's a good one or not....

Sorry but the process is very simple. I am a relative newbie and it took me about 15 minutes. If I had to do it again it would take even less time.

It does seem hard to understand when you are presented with it for the first time. But, if you just follow the steps it is a very simple process. I bet if you had to do it again if wouldn't take you very long.

In theory yes, but it depends on which connector on the motherboard you plug your external ports into. Some motherboards have multiple options for this and if you plug yours into a different connector then the chances are that it (the SSDT) wouldn't work. Also, some motherboards have multiple revisions throughout their manufacturing period, so again the settings may be different between revisions.

A repository of them all could easily be made but I suspect that the management of that, with so many different contributors, would be a nightmare and arguments would break out between people who say they work a treat and other that say they don't, just because they downloaded the wrong revision or plugged their external (case) connector into a different one on the board.

YOU could always volunteer to collect and manage them.
