I'm about to buy this motherboard with i9-9990K. Some people report that Z390 chipset have shutdown/reboot issues. Does that applies to this motherboard as well or was it already resolved?

Also I'm picking between Asus z390-a and z390-i. What should I go with?

Thank you for your reply. I compare my SSDT-5.aml and your SSDT-4.aml, then modify my SSDT-5. I use the newest USBinjectall, but USB still doesn't work. Is there thing further should I do to make USB work corrected, like bios setting?

Make sure you enable XCHI Handoff in the USB settings.

@vince8ks I am nearly done acquiring components and wanted to know if I still need to get a separate Bluetooth wifi card.

Are the on-board ones finally supported? IF not is the DW1830 still the best choice? Is it a drop in replacement form factor wise?

I have the DW1830 at the moment, that said I had to remove the old enclosure because it doesn't fit. That one is the only one that fits if you want to keep the io shroud, also needs some extra kexts to make it work.

You'll need to emulate NVRAM to make shutdown/reboot work properly, other than that my Z390-I works like a charm.

We know it works, but how?

When you install Clover, go to Custom Installation, and select these options.
Under UEFI Drivers, also select EmuVariableUefi-64 in addition to one of the memory fixes that work with your board.

@vince8ks

Just went to order the card and saw this:

Broadcom BCM94352Z M.2 NGFF 802.11AC 867Mbps BT 4.0 DW1560

Looks smaller and claimed Hackintosh comparability. What do you think?

DW1560 works. I use it in my laptop hackintosh. You need two kexts for Bluetooth.

Yes, but what is it about EmuVariableUefi-64, RC scripts ... that fixes the shutdown/restart problems with the Z390 chipset?

Apparently, ASUS and maybe other manufacturers no longer include NVRAM flash storage so we need to emulate it with software. Would be interesting to know how shutdown/restart is affected by NVRAM.

Good day, I'm going to buy a ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO and I9 9900K. I also want to take the Patriot Viper 4 16GB DDR4 XMP 2.0 K2 3400 CL16 and Samsung SSD 970 Evo M.2
500GB. Do you think this will be the right choice?

Check the screenshot I attached above, it should clarify it.

I'm still not sure if the extra Kext mess something up though, sometimes my wifi drops when I'm back from sleep.

You say it like it’s a compromise, any reason to use another wifi card?

Does everything work?

Depending on the card you might choose, and the overclock you want to do, removing the IO shield is sort of a compromise. I chose not to, giving that I've been running an i9.
