How to overclock my video card

So concerning the rendering and 3D,
you will love the Xeon if you need to make parallel tasks like crazy
you will feel nothing in term of lags or else: so smooth

No the DDR4 on a Xeon cannot goes to 3000
on a Xeon it is Max: 2400MHz
but with this kind of DDR4 you can, at 2400, play on the latency and pretty well, you can reduce the latency
keep in mind that there is the latency paradox, speed is always better than latency, but better in the way that you cannot feel it in any case (but your bank account will feel it), a 3000 low latency cost crazy compared to a 2400 standard latency (for same kit, e.g.: 64GB)
so let your DDR4 super duper low in latency at the maximum of 2400
as you can see on GB, at 2400MHz and NO OC, I am not bad in score!!!

for settings:
- FakeCPUID: 0x406F1 -> 0x040674
- VoodooTSCSync: IOCPUNumber -> 43
- XCPM: without EIST & PMDrvr.kext ?
- ssdtPRGen.sh: regenerate SSDT >>> didn't make this part and btw it is not active in my rig and I still have same score 4500 /45000 so for now I leave as it!

just made the FrequencyVectors method to complete
and DONE

tiny advice:
for your M2 sell them :p
don't add too many stuff which need to use the lanes, if not necessary

Also I was interested to see the new xeon PLATINUM 8180 PROCESSOR
(known as CPUID: 0x50654) with 28 cores at 2,5GHz

in my opinion much better to buy a dual socket with another 2696v4 (price will go down quickly)
there is a use for the platinum and gold xeon of course, but at 13 011 $
not for personal computers as ours :lol::lol::lol::lol:

With the power of a Xeon CPU for multi tasking with so much cores/threads, I will forget the opportunity to OC the processor.
And the price of a new 6950X is much more for less cores, so I would skip that story :lol:

The only thing what I wonder is about the RAM, for now can't found directly a answer..
I have already DDR4 RAM @ 3000Mhz would it be lowered to 2400Mhz or is it possible to run with XMP @ 3000Mhz ? :confused:

As I read in another topic, can I change the i7-6850K to the E5-2696 v4 and change clover settings:
- FakeCPUID: 0x406F1 -> 0x040674
- VoodooTSCSync: IOCPUNumber -> 43
-
XCPM: without EIST & PMDrvr.kext ?
- ssdtPRGen.sh: regenerate SSDT

As for my workstation recently upgraded my M.2 SSD from a Samsung 850 Pro 512Gb -> Samsung 960 Pro 1TB
Don't know when Asus gonna release the 4x M.2 Hyper PCIe x16 card, so maybe I can attach my old 2* M.2 512GB in RAID0

A heads up.
The new Vega has a hardware chip preventing bios mods. I put my vega FE under water and now it's on 43deg at max, but no way to use all that potential :D
Maybe somebody clever will find a way to get around it in the future.

I wonder if it's a Frontier Edition issue only, the RX Vega 56 can be flashed with the 64 Vbios.

Have you tried it in windows with WattMan? I have been able to boost clocks and drop voltage slightly in windows on RX Vega 64. Got a 213,000 Geekbench doing it.

Hi guy I'm new here. Be nice please. I need to adjust my GTX 1080 clock speed. I'm running on OS X 10.13.6 on a Mac pro Tower 12 core and I'm not sure how to bios mod my GPU. @GDS mentioned using tweak and NVflash. Can I do that in Bootcamp? I tried looking for @GDS posts on it but cant find it. My GTX 1080 has a Mac boot EFI on it.

You probably have to use a pc with windows to do it. Tech Powerup has a lot of modded vbios’. A Mac boot EFI is that for the Mac Pro?

someone called me :p
1st of all EFI and bios are 2 different things

OK so Maxwell (980 Ti for example) and Pascal (1080) are totally different for BIOS
you cannot OC a pascal as a Maxwell, forget it
because the pascal works on a variable OC when Maxwell manages to have a max OC (frequency and voltage), you search the max stable on windows and then you flash with the bios modded that you did

the unique thing that you can do with pascal is flashing with a bios modded with unlimited wattage, I mean your GPU will make yo-yo in frequency when your tasks need power but without restriction, so if the coolings there the GPU will go very high
BUT if your card is under air and not under a powerful water-cooling: dont do it, because you will clearly burn it

I feel that your start concerning hack and also OC so my advice dont do anything and be happy to have a 1080 working

anyway to resume without any powerful cooling: forget OC a pascal graphic card on Mac
it exists the fact to go to RADEON and then overclocking super well it and it simplifies the fact of the drivers ;)
metal 2 on radeon oc is awesome

i dont do because many of my windows programs use Nvidia and I cannot render anything with a render (limitation of the program)

What I'm trying to do is to lower the clock for my 1080 - Its a SC and I got it from Macvid

Problem is I randomly get graphic glitches like lines and funny squares so I suspect the clock is a little too high. Its on 1733 and I want to lower it to 1680mhz as I suspect the card doesn't like the clock speed. So can I download the mod bios from Tech Power Up and flash the vbios? Can Bootcamp do that?

I am very very alien to windows and bios so please help me and tell me the exact software bits and steps. Thank you!!!

no of course the bootcamp cannot do it
you are playing with fire: the OC of a pascal is more tricky than a Maxwell

I advise you to do nothing and also you didnt read me well:
on hackintosh the OC will not be useful AT ALL
instead of you put free wattage but you dont have strong water-cooling so it is pointless

the clocks cannot be used on a hack so I dont know why you consider that your clocks are high, the PASCAL doesnt use same way of OC than a Maxwell
it is IMPOSSIBLE to fix frequency on a pascal
it is done only by bios and it is with a variable frequency

i am sorry but I prefer to not give you the links for OC a pascal
because:
1/ if you cannot find by yourself, I am afraid that you will have problems to flash a bios
2/ i dont want to be responsible of anything; I am sorry but you didnt understand my message at all :(
3/ you dont have windows installed and you will not be able to make anything great instead to brick your card

keep your card as it is

Thank you!
