iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I decided to update to Mojave and used your guide, (like I did when I built this beast) and it was awesome. thank you very much .
The only issue that I am having is. that it seems that some of my Usb devices only work if I unplug them and plug them back in at login. Like my keyboard that's k95 corsair USB..
weird thing is that the wireless mouse thats plugged into that keyboard... works without having to unplug it and back in like I do have to with Keyboard and also webcam..
Seems they work Fine but only After unplug and plug back in.

Do you use my truncated 15-port XHC USB kext for the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe and did you disable the USB port limit patch in your config.plist?

Hey KGP, have you seen better GPU performance with 10.14.2?

There was another thread where a user mentioned 10.14.2 adds support for hardware HEVC/H264 to non iGPU Mac SMBIOs. (Maybe this will fix the Premiere Pro OpenCL/Metal system freeze on non iGPU systems)....Apple knows the issue and maybe they will implement it in 10.14.2.

Will be moving to Mojave when 10.14.2 official is out :)

Hopefully I can help in this thread (even tho most of my posts are useless anyway  )

Honestly, as I have been on holidays the last days, I did not check much on possible improvements related to 10.14.2.

With my Nitro+ Vega 64 it seems difficult to confirm that 10.14.2 adds support for hardware HEVC/H264 to non iGPU Mac SMBIOS as HVEC/264 for this GPU was also supported in earlier macOS versions, wasn’t it? I always thought that the HVEC/H264 issue was restricted to iGPU GPUs like the RX580.

For sure you will be able to contribute in answering your question once you will be on 10.14.2 after it’s official release.

Don’t say that most of your posts are useless, only because sometimes we do not share same oponions. ;)

Any contribution is appreciated and related discussions also help others in shedding light onto darkness and remaining personal questions.

Spoken like a true scientist. If I might add, any civilized contribution and discussion

HI.
The graphics card occupies three slots, and you can not install the AirPort card in slot 3.
So I installed it in slot 6, but it did not work normally.
So the idea is to move the Thunderbolt card into slot 6 and move the airport card into slot 4.
I edited the SSDT, but PCI does not have a status indicator.

Should Thunderbolt cards be fitted in slot 6?
I changed from BIOS to PCI x16 -4.
SSDT is also edited, but PCI does not display status.

Finally moved to Mojave (I know 10.14.2 is around the corner but oh well).

So far so good.

I was having errors on my NVMe during First Aid in Disk Utility in High Sierra so I just decided to completely wipe the main OS NVMe with the Samsung Magician boot USB (zapping it to factory settings)....then installed Mojave 10.14.1 and restoring from Time Machine (local HDD)...took about 2 hours for 700GB of data and now all is well.

This was basically a "Fresh" install, and not a direct update (although I restored user data, I have always kept the system vanilla and have never modified system files)....this saves me so much time instead of doing a "fresh fresh" install where I have to reinstall so many plugins for Adobe software and customize it. Bless Time machine.

By 10.14.3/10.14.4 it will get really stable, as usual with macOS, but overall it's fine and I love Dark Mode.

FYI I'm using a custom XHC USB since High Sierra for the DESIGNARE EX, so no issues and no need for USB Port Limit patches in config.plist.

Also gained about 3,000+ points in GB after moving to Mojave. This is all stock, CPU is not OC'd (Only ram is from 2400 to 2666).

Not bad.

Attached a USB kext for the Sage/10G board. Was really easy since it only has 4 ports and one internal usb 3 header

Can you detail supposed instabilities on your 10.14.1 system? Based on my personal experience, already during public betas and especially with 10.14.0, Mojave was as stable as 10.13.6. It is also generally supposed, that 10.14 includes improvements when compared with High Sierra's system performance and stability.

Attached a USB kext for the Sage/10G board. Was really easy since it only has 4 ports and one internal usb 3 header

You port layout states:

Front-panel: 2x USB 3.0 external connected with two internal USB3.0 header U31G1_12

I guess that's a typo and should read:

Front-panel: 2x USB 3.0 external connected with internal USB3.0 header U31G1_12

Fixed in the files attached below.

Then it seems that the Sage/10G features 4 external USB3.0 connectors on the mobo's back panel, correct?

And there is neither any internal USB2.0 header nor there is any external USB2.0 connector on the mobo's back panel, correct?

I further slightly modified the kext file denomination and created a fully implemented and truncated 15-port kext, which in case of the Sage/10G are however identical. That's rather a cosmetic Library consideration.

Thus, if you agree with the kext implementations attached below I will directly upload the 2 kexts to the Library.
