Razer Blade Stealth 2018 sleep / screen dim issue

Status
Not open for further replies.
1. No image is shown on the screen, as far as I can tell. Took it to numerous bright lights and used my cell phone torch - nothing seen.

2. The IOReg files above were before the sleep / wake cycle. Attached is a new one, captured after wake, while the screen is off. This was done over VNC / screen sharing.

3. I messed with numerous EDIDs as I was trying different fixes, but couldn't find anything that worked.

Thanks for your help.

Which values for byte 20 did you try?

Thanks for your help.

You might also try different ig-platform-id values.

Note: Your profile is incomplete (missing screen resolution). Please fix as per FAQ.

1. Fixed my profile to include screen resolution.

2. Tried EDIDs with byte 20 values of:
  • A5 (wake problem exists)
  • B5 (wake problem exists)
  • 95 (wake problem exists)

3. Tried these ig-platform-id values:
  • 0x59160000 (wake problem exists)
  • 0x59160009 (wake problem exists)
  • 0x59180002 (graphics don't work properly)
  • 0x591b0000 (wake problem exists)
  • 0x591b0006 (wake problem exists)
  • 0x591c0005 (wake problem exists)
  • 0x59260002 (wake problem exists)
  • 0x59270004 (wake problem exists)

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

Ok - what would help the most from a debugging standpoint? Should I re-generate the bundle for every ig-platform-id I test? Every EDID? Before / after the wake issue?

Your ACPI configuration is wrong.
config.plist/Generate/CStates PState should be removed or set false.

Thanks for the suggestion. I fixed that up and I still see the wake issue.

Try different ig-platform-id values.
Typical values for your IGPU would be 0x59160000 or 0x591b0000 (you're using 0x59270004).

Wait a second ghostar... is your trackpad working?

Yep, it's working, but I had to delete a couple system kexts to get it to work. I added those back in for debugging this dimming issue and was using a USB mouse:

From https://github.com/FadiniGIT/Razer-Blade-Stealth-Hackintosh-Guide

If trackpad doesn’t work - delete the kexts AppleIntelLpssI2C.kext and AppleIntelLpssI2CController.kext From /System/Library/Extentions

With my updates here: https://github.com/FadiniGIT/Razer-Blade-Stealth-Hackintosh-Guide/pull/4 , multi-touch is kind of working. Tap with two fingers will work as a right click, but *click* with two fingers will not for some reason. Swipes and pinches seem to work alright (not as accurately as a real Mac touchpad), but anything with five fingers seems to cause a panic.
